The jury finds her quilty

Not everyone has a college degree or was born with a silver spoon in their mouth. Same with plumbers and/or other "trade" type jobs. Law enforcement is not exactly a specialized field and while some departments require a degree it hasn't always been that way. It is a thankless public servant job and frankly I wish every one of them would quit. I'd love to see these cowards "call a thug" when someone kicks their front door in.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not putting them down. I made the mistake more than once in doing a thankless, difficult job. Never again.

There is nothing to celebrate in this verdict, even though it is absolutely the right one. Two lives destroyed by a careless and tragic mistake. We tend to view these police shootings through the lens of history, but every case, every shooting has a different set of circumstances. This one is very sad.

100%.

He is 21 now, due to graduate with a degree in mechanical engineering this coming spring. I say a prayer to the universe every morning that he will continue to be safe.
Mine is 20 and white. He thinks he's 7 feet tall and bullet proof.

I feel that it was truly accidental, and she was truly remorseful as well. Yet we give LEOs a badge and weapons, and have the expectation that they'll use them appropriately. I wonder what her sentence will be?

I just can’t buy it

There is no way you can wear and train with that equipment for that long and make that mistake

I think something doesn’t add up

I am not unfamiliar with firearms of many kinds.

I suppose that it could be possible to accidentally shoot somebody,

but if I'm being REALLY honest, placing myself in the situation,
and thanks to our government, I've been there,

I find it hard to buy as well.

You're familiar with firearms, you're trained, you shoot somebody, it's probably on fucking purpose.

One of the last things the jurors asked for was a hands on look at the two weapons

I bet they held them, weighed them in their hands

Pretended to draw them

Examined their appearance as you aimed them

Something about her story didnt add up

She knew it was a gun in her hand

Maybe she accidentally fired

But she knew it was the gun
