Genesis 9:6
I thought Jesus' death did way with OT laws, I guess it only applies when convenient, lol
Genesis 9:6
Lifetime incarceration with no possibility of parole.
Many here have been expressing the desire for vengeance as motive for this man having suffered the way he did.

I am a family member of a murder victim. I don't know that the state killing the murderer would have given my family any more peace.
Not really looking for sympathy, but thank you. It was a long time ago and I've mentioned it before. I don't think the the feelings of victims' families should be used to justify the death penalty and only raise it to rebut that specific point.
Pretty much all of Western civilization disagrees with that view.
and I can find anecdotal stories of murder victim families wanting to roast the suckers.

I always have mixed emotions, but the death penalty is still wrong. What these men did was barbarous, but we should not act in kind in my opinion.
i disagree. the death penalty is about justice and part of that justice could be for the families. Some families feel closure. I would like to know that if anyone murdered me that they would be killed as well.
actually no. many countries already disallow "true" life imprisonment for the exact stated reasons superfreak mentioned.
killing someone quickly after they have been given due process is not "acting in kind"
strawman dipshit. no one has argued in this thread that it "deters" criminals. we like the justice aspect of it, we like killing scumbags. it's its own reward.
Matthew 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill.
Rotfl at you
And?
It is taking of life, I do not believe we should do so, even under the guise of justice
