How can Trump walk away from the court as a free man

Where else are they going to make it?

Lots of options, most likely in a kitchen set up down the road where the Secret Service has set up a headquarters for those protecting the incarcerated president.

If they can do it at Mar-A-Lago, they can do it in a federally owned property. They just wont be paying Trump rent any longer.

And that can be changed in the case of a FORMER president serving time.

Are you really as dumb as you seem? You post the stupidest shit. Of course a FORMER president can go to prison.

A president would have to be in solitary confinement due to the risk and solitary is a punishment so no it would never happen.

You certainly are not going to have a president in general population.

Depends, he could be in with some approved roommates, or he could be in a single, but that is not necessarily solitary confinement. Plenty of prisoners have single rooms for various reasons.

Or, I wold not object if they keep a convicted treasonous traitor to America in solitary.

Plenty of infamous Americans have ended up in prison.

IT most certainly could happen, but Id be okay with home detention, with an ankle monitor and no use of computers/no visitation other than what is allowed in real prison and no luxuries.

What law school did you graduate from? Did you pass the bar?

You know it's possible to know something about a subject without going to school for it.

How do you think Lincoln became a lawyer.

Lincoln practiced law for 25 years and never had a law degree.

Trump isn’t President. He’s a former President and he can be kept in solitary confinement. His SS can be his guards.

Solitary is a punishment for bad behavior, it's been a punishment because it affects a person's mind.

You can't sentence someone to just solitary unless they misbehave.

That is probably what would happen.

The security risk is simply too great.

Trump knows too much as a former president to have him around people who could threaten him or to put him in solitary where he might go crazy and start talking about stuff.

And how much would that cost?

When Bush left office there were 75 agents assigned to his protection detail in total, all working different shifts, because of the threat to him, if Trump were to go to prison, need special accommodations, that number would likely triple.

We don't know how many he has assigned to him right now but since it's based on threat level we can assume it's probably the highest of any president in the past.

Prison is absolutely a possibility. I do agree he might threaten to tell national security secrets if he did not get his way, but our prison system knows how to hold firm against such terrorism.

A weak man like Trump is very likely to go insane in home detention, its not the cake walk people think. Ive had several clients who could not stand it. They limit your access to the telephone, any computer, they limit visitors, you must pay for your ankle monitor system, they limit any luxuries, sometimes they manage your available meals. They do their best to simulate the true prison environment.

They would not likely allow him to stay at Mar-a-lago.

A lot, but not allowing anyone to be above the law would be worth it. Additionally, they most likely would make Trump himself pay any cost his incarceration exposed the government to.

They charge prisoners a daily rate, they charge those on home detention a much higher rate...

If you cant do the time, do not do the crime.

They do it all the time, only they call it "protective custody." Cue your next fail in 4...3...2...1... :rofl2:

But... But... But, hes a former president he CANT go to prison. Waaaa, they toilets are stainless steel, not GOLD!

Just the fact we are having this discussion because its a real possibility makes me really happy.

So that is a no! You have no law degree, you went to no law school, you just defend Trump because you're drunk on orange Kool Aid!

Prisoners do not pay for their incarceration.

Do you know how much it costs to keep a prisoner locked up?

I doubt more than a handful could afford that.

They can't make special rules for Trump.

If the left didn't demonize Joe Arpaio he could have done it far cheaper

Prisoners pay some of their incarceration in the Federal system and in Florida. Why are you always wrong?

When they are on house arrest or home detention they pay for 100% of it.

When they have a special need, if they have money, they pay for 100% of it.

Prisons can't even keep prisoners from killing each other or attacking their guards but regardless, the secret service has the final say in all security matters, even the former president can't overrule them.

This means that all prison rules would not apply to Trump so there is really no reason to keep him in there.

They can't put an orange jumpsuit on him if the secret service says no, they can't handcuff him if the secret service says no, if the secret service says the showers are too disgusting they will have to make accommodations for that, there is simply no way a president could serve time in a prison.
