Scriptural: The Koran itself in several places insists that its God is the same as the God of Judaism and Christianity. The most direct statement is one in which Muslims are admonished to tell Jews and Christians "We believe in that which has been revealed to us and revealed to you; our God and your God is One, and to Him we do submit" (E.H. Palmer translation of Sura 29:46) Of course, the verse can also be rendered "our Allah and your Allah is One" (as it is in the notorious Abdullah Yusuf Ali translation)

So the Koran states it.... ditzie admits that God is the same for Christians and Jews, but somehow because he found two Christians who think as he does that somehow dismisses what the Koran actually STATES?

He had two sons, Isaac (by Sarah) and Ishmael (by Hagar). He then apparently took another woman named Keturah, who bore him many sons.

the other sons are not what he is talking about. he is claiming the "third" son is responsible for christianity. we are talking specifically about the two named sons.

That said... it was the two sons, Isaac and Ishmael that the three religions are based on. Judaism and Christianity believing it was Isaac Abraham almost sacrificed and Islam believing it was Ishmael.

So I wrong about one detail. You are claiming that God and Allah are not one is in the same. You are the retard. You are as stupid as dixie on this point.

allah and god are not the same. period.

so because the quran says so, it must be true? allah and god are not the same. allah does not have a son.

1) ALL THREE RELIGIOUS TEXTS CLAIM THAT THEY WORSHIP the God of Abraham.... ALL THREE

This is true. Two of the three actually worship the God of Abraham, the other (much later in history) is a fraud, a fake, a perversion of the other two, worshiping a deity defined as Allah, which has no characteristics of Abraham's God. They CLAIM to be an Abrahamic religion, but they are not. The sources I referenced, illustrate the stark differences between the legitimate God of Abraham and the Islamic perversion. The earliest teachings of Islam actually stipulate that Allah is superior to who Christians refer to as "God" ...indicating there HAS to be two distinct entities.

2) YOUR links.... the first states clearly that it is written from a CHRISTIAN perspective. Not an objective one. The second looks at it OBJECTIVELY and shows that ALL THREE worship the God of Abraham. The third link is from Tim O'Hearn.... tell us Ditzie what is HIS background.... other than the obvious Christian background.

I don't know the backgrounds of any of the people who are responsible for the source links. I presented those to clarify this IS a legitimate debate, and not the ramblings of an internet idiot who doesn't know what he's talking about. I stated that God and Allah are different, not the same... You said they were the same, equivalent... the sources are in dispute, there is not a consensus.... that's what happens when all the smart people agree on something... a consensus. So there's not one here, people disagree.. some claim Allah and God are the same thing, others claim they aren't the same thing at all. The difference may simply be opinions, but there is a difference.

3) You ignored every single one of my points to you and instead continue on with your nonsense.

You didn't make any points... you threw out a generous helping of insults, and proclaimed yourself right and me wrong... but I didn't really see any 'points' being made.

4) God and Allah are the same (in that we are using the term 'God' in reference to what Christians call their deity and 'Allah' in terms of what Muslims call theirs.) There is no debate except by the bigots of the various religions who insist that because of their hatred of the other religions, the others must 'NOT' believe in the same God.

No, there is indeed great debate on the topic, as I have illustrated. Yes, the Islamic claim is, they believe in the same God, but the fact is, they don't. Islamics believe in a distortion, a perversion of the God of Abraham, and they prop up the lie with a totally false presentation of history as we know it. They claim, for instance, that Moses and Abraham were Muslims! We know this isn't true because of what "Mooslems" were doing during the same time period... worshiping the Gods of the Cow and Moon! They believe many of the same things Christians believe, but in the context of Muslims being the "chosen people" instead of the Jews. This is all a fraud, from it's inception as a "religion" by a self-proclaimed prophet who was an adulterer, liar and thief, to modern-day Muslims who practice Taqiyya, the fundamental principle of lying and being dishonest to advance the religion.

5) Now tell us ditzie... how could GOD allow for there to be Catholics AND Protestants.... why did GOD not come down and set one or both of them straight? How could THEY worship the same God given the discrepancies?

WTF? How many times do I have to say, this is NOT a debate on Theology? I think this makes 5 times I've said it... can you not comprehend what I mean by that? I have no idea what or why God would or should, or could... do ANYTHING! That's not what we are discussing, or at least, not what I am discussing. If you want to debate Theology, go find a Christian Theologist and ask them!

Yeah, I'm sure that was a good one too! Why don't you just stop and think a little bit before you post any more of your crap?

Ok... because YOU and some other Christians you found CLAIM it is ISLAM that is the perversion, then it must of course be true. There are stark differences between Christianity and Judaism too you moron.

You don't know their backgrounds, yet you claim they 'know a lot more than anyone on this board' and proclaimed they were 'scholars'????

Again, each of the three religions state they believe in the God of Abraham. It is moronic of YOU to tell another religion that they do not do so. It is THEIR religion. THEIR faith. You fucking idiot.

You didn't make any points... you threw out a generous helping of insults, and proclaimed yourself right and me wrong... but I didn't really see any 'points' being made.

Of course you don't 'see' the points, you are doing everything you can to ignore them. You state that Allah cannot be God because the term Allah precedes Islam. That is false. You ignore the fact that the term God was used prior to Christianity and Judaism... but that is OK?

You proclaim that Islam must be a fraud because God would not have 'changed his story/allowed two versions of his story' to exist. Yet you ignore the fact that there are significant differences WITHIN each of the three religions and their various sects.

As I stated, the above is what the BIGOTS believe. That THEIR religion is right and the others must therefor be perversions of the truth. That is EXACTLY what the extreme Muslims believe.

Yet you use the 'differences' between Islam and Christianity to proclaim that they can therefore NOT be the same God? You fucking hack.

Sigh.... The Jews and Christians also both believe in the GOD of Abraham. The Jews also do NOT believe Christ was God's son.

that is different than allah. the jews simply rejected the messiah. muhammad completely altered god and altered the OT. therefore, they are not the same god. christianity does not alter the OT.

The above just shows your bigotry. How did the Muslims 'alter God'?

Also... it was YOUR point that 'Allah did not have a son'.... NEITHER did the God of the Jews. Therefore, by YOUR definition, the Christians 'altered God' and therefore they do not believe in the same God as the Jews..... isn't that how it works in your world?

wrong again. one is expanding on god, the other is completely altering god. if you actually took the time to compare allah with god from the OT and the NT you would realize how dumb you are for saying they are the same. christianity did not change the OT, quite the contrast to islam which changed many important tenets of the OT and the NT, well, pretty much ignores the NT. i suspect you have done very little research of your own and instead rely on the opinion of others. i've read much of the quran, many hadiths. i suggest you do the same and then get back to me.
