It is very much still the United States of America. Elections were held and enough democrats won to give them a filibuster proof majority.

You want to make it sound as though the democrats have done something bad. They won their elections.

If you want things to change then work to make the changes in the GOP to make it more respresentative of more people, or throw your weight behind a third party.

You live in a nation that holds elections. The party you prefer lost enough of those elections that they have no ability to stop this nominee from becoming a Supreme Court Justice. That is the fair way and the american way.

As for the "love it or leave it", perhaps this is just being repeated for those who favored the party that said the same thing just a few years ago.

yeah I know, you already said that..I don't think our government was suppose to be set up as having one party overrun the citizens of it's country..but I guess that is where we are headed..

I listened to Graham explain that last night. He still has a responsibility to vote up or down. Before he casts that vote she must be examined, I agree. What he meant is that the partisan left hold the majority so unless she totally blows it (making the dems have to vote her down) she's a shoe in...but his vote is not.

I want my Senator to record their vote based on a full examination, just as I want their vote on legislation that they have read and understand completely...even if many think a brief synopsis is satisfactory I do not.

I only repeated it because you seemed to still be complaining about the system that is in place.

If the party in charge does not do what the people want, they will not be reelected and the other party (or other parties) will regain some power.

You are complaining, but it is what the voters wanted.

Depending on who writes and takes the polls, they can show whatever you want them to show.

The fact is that this is the way our government officials are elected and this is the way Supreme Court Justices are placed on the bench.

Do you want Supreme Court Justices to be placed because of polls?

No, I am not saying we are being governed by mob rules. I am trying to politely point out the problems in your "...what used to be the United States of America" complaints.

If there were a filibuster proof republican majority and a republican president, and the justice in question was clearly pro-gun & anti-abortion, would you be making the same complaints?

We live in the same nation as before. You just want to make it sound as though we have been overrun and are now under a dictatorship.

The rules were the same when republicans had more power, they just lost that power. And, if you were honest, you would admit to the reason they lost the power they had.

But if you want to keep on with the "its not the same country and the people are being abused" nonsense, thats up to you.
