60-year-old Richard Barnett began yelling during a virtual hearing on his case that it was not "fair" that he remained in custody while some others accused of participating in the riot have been released ahead of their trials. The Arkansas resident's attorneys have reportedly attempted to secure his bonded release with no success thus far.

“They’re dragging this out!” he yelled at one point, according to the Times. “They’re letting everybody else out!"

His outburst appeared to come in response to the judge setting Barnett's trial date in May, a prospect which he exclaimed would force him to remain in jail “another month.”

Many were armed, Maybe not firearms inside korma but I’ll bet big money that there were firearms inside. I don’t know why you hung up on this armed issue, the law does not require an insurrectionist to be armed. Don’t get me wrong, I see on video many of them with weapons.

Yeah, all the poor guy did was take part in a little insurrection - break into the Speaker's office and steal some stuff that didn't belong to him, threaten as best he unlawfully could the outcome of the election. Remember he's a white guy and for that he deserves a break; not as if he and his fellow rioters had all been black guys. Just the thought of that makes you shudder.

The Washington Post reports that some of the Capitol Police officers were sprayed with bear spray and that others were struck with metal poles ripped from inauguration-related scaffolding.

The VP contributed to a fund to have them bailed out, and numerous prosecutors refused to bring charges against them. The press spent last year playing dumb about it. Plenty of blame to go around.
