If the Senate allows a fair trial...

Hello Celticguy,

The popular vote is meaningless and always has been.

If the popular vote is meaningless then why do, time after time, Republicans carry on about what 'the people' wanted? Everybody knows they're only talking about what Republicans wanted. Why do they perpetuate this myth that Republicans are the only real Americans? What BS. That's just xenophobia on parade.

Let’s summarize.

(1) The fanatics that Pelosi has allowed to take over the Democrat Party have failed to remove a sitting president that the American people elected.

(2) They have succeeded in ensuring the re-election of President Trump.

(3)They have failed to perform their duty to help the American people and the American workers.

One out of three isn’t too bad.

Just 2 Catholics playing that Knights of Columbus interpretation of one nation under God law & order.

Here is what McConnell should offer as rules

The democrats can call the witnesses that they called in their hearings including the whistleblower

They should also be bound by regular rules of order in a court.

Should be fun

What can be more fair than that. They democrats can’t claim to want to call new witnesses they couldn’t be bothered calling in the House

OK, just the ones they did call that refused to come at the request of trump. You aren't stupid enough to think McConnell could possibly call ANYONE else without us seeing Bolton or Mulvaney do you?

It was far from a perfect call. Trump is incapable of an extemporaneous perfection. His rhetoric is that of a not-especially-talented grammar school student.

The testimony indicates there was an attempted extortion...which apparently is invisible to Trump supporters.

I'd say, "Nice try" but I'm sure you would realize I was just being kind. It wasn't.

It's incredible that the right is fucking stupid enough to think Zelensky would say he was being pressured as long as trump holds the purse strings in the US. It's mindboggling they could be that ignorant, I simply don't believe it. The day will come when trump is not holding those strings and Zelensky will freely admit he knew damn well he was going to either announce a bogus investigation or not get funding. That is until the cat was out of the bag that trump was obviously bribing them so he released it the next day.

Partisans are always overly optimistic about their chances of success (elections, impeachments, etc.).

There is no way 2/3 of the Senators are going to vote to convict no matter what Mulvaney and Bolton say.

You are probably correct however it will be that much more obvious to the country that trump is guilty and the only reason he is not being removed is because republican senators don't give a shit about guilt or innocence but only their party and paycheck.

There is a chance maybe enough repub senators will not show up for the vote so they don't have to live with the stain of voting to acquit. They know damn well he is guilty and that one day that will be proven beyond any shadow of doubt. Hell, once acquitted trump is fucking stupid enough to come out and say as much himself.

It takes 2/3rd's vote of those seated and voting that day, not necessarily 2/3rd's of the entire senate.

Yeah, his grammar was't perfect! Must Impeach! OMG :palm; :rofl2:

The testimony proved that there was no impeachable offense, as not a single witness could name one.

So what crime in the phone call triggered the WB and you, Frank?

You seem a bit unstable. Certainly partisan. Not really a person I would consider an American.

Defying subpoenas is a crime and trump blatantly and openly defied them. No witness is required to prove that one, trump proved it himself.

not a crime. Obstruction of Congress doesn't even exist! there is "obstruction of justice"-
but Congress has to go to court first for that to be applicable - they didn't so it doesn't

unsupported wishful thinking

Executive Privilege gives President Trump the right to resist subpoenas just like any other president.

Don't doubt me. :palm:

As Trump said, Darth...he could shoot someone on Fifth Avenue and not lose support.
Trump never said this. Extreme argument fallacy. Lie.
So...extorting the president of Ukraine
Lie. He never extorted anyone in the Ukrainian government.
to obtain help in his (Trump's) re-election campaign is a no-brainer.
Biden put both his shoes into his mouth, along with Obama's, and tied all the laces together. He made his own mess.
He knows his stooges will pretend it didn't happen...or it is not obvious it happened.
It happened with Biden. The more it is looked at, the more obvious it is.
Continue if you must, but know this: If he is proved to be successful in these kinds of enterprises...you may find a need to forgive or rationalize much more difficult and dangerous stuff in the near future.
Void argument fallacy.
As respectfully as I can put this (not an easy job)...you are being useful idiots.
Inversion fallacy.

So...the extortion victim denied being a victim while the gun was still to his head.
What extortion victim? What gun?
Are you actually listening to what you are saying, Darth.
I would say he is. YOU aren't. Argument of the stone fallacy.
You are rationalizing just like Trump knew people like you would.
Trivialization. Argument of the stone fallacy.
Do it...that is your right.

At least for now it is your right.
Strawman fallacy.
It is an example of myopia...a seed, so to speak, that may well bear such bitter fruit that your rights in that regard will disappear.
Pascals Wager fallacy.
Trump is a disaster for this country. You are aiding and abetting a disaster for this nation.
Lie. There is no disaster. A disaster is not a crime.

There was no extortion victim, there is no gun to his head now and he still denies being a victim.

The dumb, radical, Democrat Socialists have opened up a can of worms. When the Republicans have the House...

“People like you,” I doubt that D.O. is a near 90 year old fart who appears to have lost all of his marbles.

Nothing changes, if Nervous Nancy completes the now incomplete impeachment disaster, the president will be exonerated and remain in office for five (5) more years.

He will quite probably be re-elected anyway, even if Queen Nancy never files the articles of impeachment with the Senate. The Democrats usually just shoot themselves in the foot. This time, I think they shot themselves in the head.
