i pretty much agree. i believe most of the players who took a knee during the anthem were not motivated by disrespect for the flag, just a symbolic protest of racial injustice in this country...but like I CLEARLY POINTED OUT IN MY FIRST POST- some of the players made no attempt to deny their basic refusal to respect the flag of this country by not standing, not all, but some, and I quoted dickheaded Colin when he said -
"I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color."

I was specifically talking about him and a few other players who made similar comments. fuck them. they have the right to not respect those who have died for this country and i have the right to hope they die of cancer pretty soon.

Not really, Hasidic Jewish Wiliamsburg in NYC had the highest poverty rates in all of NYC, but the lowest crime rate in Brooklyn.

Asians in NYC also have had higher poverty rates in NYC, even higher than Blacls, but also Asians in NYC have low murder rates.

Were you around or old enough to remember his marches, speeches, and protests? I was. He wasn't listened to or respected at that time any more than the #TakeAKnee ppl are today. As you know, he even spent time in jail for it. BTW, #TakeAKnee has nothing to do with the protests that have sparked riots; totally different ppl although the cause is the same. I would think that since you brought up Dr. King, that you would support a peaceful symbolic gesture rather than the looting and burning you segued into there.

Face it, not a single one of the racists whining and crying about the kneeling would support their cause no matter where they did it.
