We as Americans have the right to raise the minimum wage too.
why do you WANT people living in poverty even though they are willing to do honest work?
What contract was that? Link, please?
so you don't think Americans should have ANY workers rights?

Why do conservatives think everyone should lick their assholes? Why?
Why do conservatives think everyone should lick their assholes?
....and an oligarchy of monied interest isn't? You need to study your history.Proles are the absolute DOOM to freedom and republicanism.
ROTFLMAO! Wow....what a double standard. That's what pisses me off about most right wingers. When they advocate their own self interest or that of the wealthy is "free market entrepranuership" but if a working class person does it, its loathsome socialist self serving behavior! LOLExactly. They are nothing but SELF SERVING. There was once an experiment conducted on rats where they were given a choice between having the pleasure center of their brain stimulated or being fed. 100% of the time the rats starved to death. THAT is the behavior of a prole. They don't even have the capacity to imagine the long term, let alone actually work towards it.
Low wage workers who produce the wealth and profits for a company asking for a fair days wage for fair days work are elites? What drugs are you on? Can you spell H-Y-P-O-C-R-I-T-E?They are the 'progressive' elites. They believe that businesses exist to serve the employees and customers. Funny thing though, time and again their ideas are run through think tanks and government accounting and 'if implemented' would cost 'some,' 'lots' of loss of jobs. So 'some' would get more, others nothing.
Same grand plan of unions. "no compromise!" Many lose their jobs.
The 'customer is always right' isn't because business is enamored with all customers-just speak to any that have actually dealt with them-rather, an acknowledgment that it is the customer that fuels the business, the profits-that will pay the employees, owner(s) including stockholders.
Most businesses pay somewhat more than minimum wage to entry employees not out of altruism (shock), but to try to attract workers that will provide decent service to customers, thus making more $$$ through sales.
In general, the businesses being addressed regarding minimum wage discussion are retail and food industry, both with very slim profit margins.
As someone above already posted, a single person working for minimum wage is already above the poverty line. Indeed, if they are working a 40 hour week, not likely today, they wouldn't qualify for SNAP benefits.
IL 'minimum' wage is I believe today, $8.25. If one continues to work for most employers in the same position, they will be over $10 per hour in about 2.75 years. Many cap at $11.00, figuring one should move on or up by that time. Only those without skills or need stay longer.
Yeap and they have a right to protest for higher wages too. that is in the contract they signed huh
Those are good questions and I'll try to answer them for you. The first is that their labors go a long way towards producing the tremendous profits earned by those companies. What is wrong with asking for a more equitable distribution of those profits? Second, you're right, you get what you pay for, when you pay more you can have greater expectations of quality of service and productivity. Thirdly, the point isn't what YOU think ANYONE is worth. The point is, that in a free nation they have the human right to, as individuals and collectively, to negotiate with their employers for their conditions of employment. We in the US believe that you get what you pay for.
Now as somebody who worked in a minimum wage job recently enough to know what little they ask, I'll tell you that 7.25 an hour is about the level of service you get from somebody you pay that much. They do the minimum to get by and not get shouted at and call it quits. They were able to train me to do that job in 8 hours, everything I needed to know. Now explain to me why they should be paid 15 dollars an hour for something a 17 year old kid can do with no prior training or skill.
Shoot, I don't think the enlisted troops in the military are paid that well and they have several weeks of training and get shot at.

Employment agreements
Good employment relationships begin with a good recruitment process that ensures everyone has clear expectations about the role, working conditions and employment rights.
A clearly written employment agreement can help reduce the risk of misunderstandings.
Every employee must have a written employment agreement. This can be either an individual agreement or a collective agreement. Collective employment agreements are negotiated in good faith between an employer and a registered union on behalf of their members. Employers must not unduly influence employees to join or not join a union.
From 1 July 2011, employers are required to retain a signed copy of the employment agreement or the current signed terms and conditions of employment. The employer must retain the “intended agreement” even if the employee has not signed it. Employees are entitled to a copy on request.
There are some provisions that must be included in employment agreements by law, and there are also a number of minimum conditions that must be met regardless of whether they are included in agreements. Employment law also provides a framework for negotiating additional entitlements.
LOL, seriously? A bullshit link from New Zealand?
Where is the contract you said McDonald workers signed?
Just admit you lied.
