Well, people have been charged with two murders for doing just what I described... it's two deaths after all... I doubt that you referred to your children throughout your wife's pregnancy as the embryos... and I'm Almost sure that your wife never had an embryo shower... did you never announce to the world that you were having a baby? Did you pick a name before they were born? Not trying to be argumentative just pointing out some things that are probably facts but if I'm wrong please let me know...
Our children were both planned.
Neither of us would have been thrilled with an accident.
We were diligent not to have accidents.
Then, when the Gestapo decided it was go time, she let me know that I was firing at a live target,
and trying to wait until she was asleep to go to bed was attempted but didn't work. She gets what she wants.
I adored my kids once they arrived, but they were entirely the Gestapo's idea; I never saw myself as a dad until the role was thrust onto to me.
When our daughter was born, it was the first time that either the Gestapo or I lived in a family with four people.
We adjusted, but brought up our kids as if they were each only children because that's all that we knew.
Sibling interaction was not something we knew anything about, so we asked them to not acknowledge one another's existence,
but they totally ignored that suggestion.
They both basically did whatever the fuck they wanted. Only absolutely essential rules were applied
so they wouldn't grow up as assholes that we wouldn't want to recognize as our own doing.
For example, I didn't let my son wear brown shoes after 6PM.
We could not enforce regimental family order that we never experienced ourselves.
Yes, people have babies. They're babies after they're born,
and maybe we think of them as babies before that...
IF WE PLANNED AND WANTED THEM. It makes all the difference in the world.
No child should come into the world unwanted.
It's a tough enough place as it is.
And that's yet another thing that anti-abortion zealots don't realize.
They think that abortion is for the convenience of the unwilling parents.
It's even more essential to spare the unwanted child the inevitable grief in store for it.
