Comey wants a "public hearing" because each committee member only gets to question him in 5 minute increments and in a closed hearing each committee member gets to question the witness without a time limit. In a public hearing Comey can refuse to answer any question by claiming the answer would have to include classified information, (a bleeping copout) for scum like Comey. Then there's the Comey specialty of grandstanding before the cameras attempting to prove he's the sharpest knife in the drawer at the hearing.

If it is justice and information Gowdy ia after, it can be done in public.

Again! Committee members at public hearings only get to question a witness 5 minutes at a time, usually only about 3 times. At a closed hearing every committee member gets to question the witness as long as it takes for the committee member to be satisfied with the answers and all of his/her questions have had the time to be ask and answered. AGAIN, At an open hearing Comey can and will plead "classified information" for every question he doesn't like and the bastard will have his show time/face time to grandstand.

But he wants it done in secret so he can spin.
