Okay, it's that time of hyper partisan politics to play "who said this."

Who made this statement;

The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies. … Increasing America’s debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that “the buck stops here.” Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better.

How many times did Shrub raise the cap? 67 IIRC. Where was all the fuss then? Idiots must be ashamed.

If you just want to play big Indian little Indian have at. Not sure how the country benefits but it seems to make you and Desh feel good.

The question I have asked a multitude of times is why even have a debt limit? This is not a partisan question.

The Republicrats both love to spend money they have both run up our bar tab. The American people have gotten quite a buzz off of that tab from Medicare to social security to roads and job training and ethanol and food stamps and whatever other boondoggle they can dream of. Their concoctions are about as imaginative as a bartender with a bottle of Grey Goose and a lemon wedge.

So I ask a gain. Why even have a debt limit to begin with? What is the purpose of the debt limit?

Liberals must be ashamed.

I don't think so; they're to stupid to be ashamed. I think it is more of a matter of being incredibly slow and stupid in trying to come up with a new lie to explain away their incredible level of hyper partisan hypocrisy.

But none can be dumber or a bigger hyper partisan hypocrite who uttered those words a few years ago.

Obama did. so what? times change. situations change. people change. Should the GOP be held to statements made by Senate Candidate Abe Lincoln regarding slavery? just curious.

Excellent; Barack Hussein Obama indeed! Now isn't it fascinating that the man who refused to vote for raising the debt ceiling as a Senator back in 2006 and decried it as a sign of failed leadership now impugns Republicans for not voting to unilaterally raising the debt limit and has been a champion for unilaterally raising it throughout his failed Presidency?

If raising the debt limit was George Bush's failure of leadership, how is it now a failure of Congress?

The answer is very simple; the man is an arrogant, inexperienced, inept hypocrite who wouldn't know what leadership is if it walked up and introduced itself to him.

He's more comfortable in campaign mode fooling gullible low information fools to support him than he is at anything remotely mistaken for leadership.

Another embarrassment Obama conveniently forgets; or perhaps he really is that dumb that he can't remember his own rhetoric.

I say again: so what? times change. situations change. people change. Should the GOP be held to statements made by Senate Candidate Abe Lincoln regarding slavery? just curious.

There you have it directly from the low information buffoons who elected this hypocrite assclown as President. So what?

You're a brilliant representative of the brain dead uninformed low information buffoons on the left who would elect and re-elect such an inept hypocritical asshat.

Try to stay on the topic for once in your pathetic life and focus like a laser that Barry Obama claimed that Bush raising the debt limit was an example of a failure of leadership. Now, after increasing the debt at twice the rate of the Bush Administration, we thinks it is wrong for Congress to want to debate raising it.

If you want to start a thread about Abe Lincoln's hypocrisy, start a new thread and we'll have that debate. This is about today and raising the debt limit, not about slavery you ignorant buffoon.

I'm glad that a statement made 7 years ago by the same man is comparable to a statement made over 200 years ago. Of course people change; most of us grow mentally; mature.

This isn't about slavery you dimwit; it is about NOW and the hypocritical partisanship of the idiot you helped elect and why he is such a partisan asshat.

Nothing has changed you dimwit. It is still about fiscal irresponsibility and Barraks claim of failed leadership back in 2006 but now hypocritically claims that not raising it is now suddenly fiscally irresponsible.

But then, you're a dimwit; of course you have little intelligence or comprehension about what this is about.

Liberals don't, apparently.

When they contradict themselves on a major policy within a decade, it's called "evolving"...
