"the basket of deplorables"

Romney got crushed for his 47% comment. Will be interesting to see if she suffers the same for calling millions of people a "basket of deplorables"
Nope, the alt right are deplorable, this is a different race remember, the gloves are off, time to face facts of Trump's campaign.

There are millions upon millions of alt righters? They just materialize yesterday?

Have you looked at the poll numbers. Most of Trump's support comes from uneducated white people. Sure there are a few that have had some success, but obviously she was generalizing to some extent.

Trump and criticism of Obama have created a safe space for the bigots. They have become emboldened to take off their bedsheets and throw away their dog whistles. Hillary is just pointing out what is obviously true.

Why should anyone mince words? If conservatives had any sense they would purge these people, as Buckley did, instead of providing cover for them and pretending they don't exist.
that's absolutely disgusting, and very typical of liberal arrogance run wild. Clnton in that regard is mirroring uber-leftist thought.

"Uneducated" doesn't mean stupid -I've seen a lot of pin heads in college that succumb to political correctness -which is a dumbing down of language
to some weird standard. Universities in that regard have become 're-education camps' as much as bastions of learning.

Talking about "purging these people" is Stalinesque -do you ever check the way you throw around terms?

The "bedsheets and dog whistles" crap you post as political commentary is basically hate speech dressed up as smug superiority.

Clinton's motto is "stronger together", whilst she goes around dividing and conquering. She has no business using that motto.
She is anathema to E Pluribus Unum

Wait, a liberal Hillary supoorter is saying this won't hurt her? Isn't that like a Trump supporter claiming his next outlandish statement won't hurt him?

There are more than you realize, recent articles say Trump has emboldened the cock roaches to come out of hiding. Just look at how many closeted racists we have on this forum. Trump supporters need to come to terms with what his campaign is and how it was born of racism and bigotry.

How will this hurt her? People aren't stupid Cawacko, they see the racism and bigotry of the Trump campaign, they see his rallies. Just because Trump is reading from a TelePrompTer now, people haven't forgotten his primary.

There are not millions of alt righters. And there is plenty of sexism, racism and homophobia among democrats so this idea that her supporters doing it is ok but not others is transparent.

Hell of an appeal, you're either a basket of deplorable or you're a victim who has been left behind.
did you notice Bill Clinton was saying "Make America Great Again" was a racist statement? ( once again playing the race card).
"Make America Great Again,” is racist. What seemed like an inclusive, inspiring call to national renewal really is a cry for Caucasian power.

the funny thing is he was using this before in his own speeches!

"Baskets of deplorables"

Ok. So on one hand she speaks of love and unity etc etc but she also does this. Says the woman who was against gay marriage and called certain blacks super predators.

Cawacko, The Nation had a great article on Phyllis Shafly and how she represented a wing of the Republican Party that was alt right before it was alt right. I can't copy and paste it from my phone for some reason, but it's a great read that points out this faction has been there in your GOP!

It will be interesting to see the double standards here, Trumpovitch has said MUCH worse that was simply ignored.
and that is fair game. This grotesque manipulation of base hatred of Trump's supporters - painting them all as poor waifs,
or slobbering 'haters' is what is despicable by Clinton.

Clinton is showing the true colors of the smug -uberliberal elites ( in front of big donors)-and her craven shilling to their self declared superiority.

Sorry, cawacko, she is exposing the racism and bigotry of the Trump campaign and I applaud her.

If you’re a white Southerner, you know exactly what it means, don’t you?” Clinton told voters in Orlando, Fla., on Wednesday. “What it means is, ‘I’ll give you the economy you had 50 years ago, and I’ll move you back up on the social totem pole, and other people down.”
But wait. On Friday morning, Fox & Friends excavated several examples of when this divisive, cruel, ugly motto was deployed to whip up white hate by none other than . . . William Jefferson Clinton.

I believe that, together, we can make America great again,” Bill Clinton said in Little Rock, Ark., in 1991. Standing before a flapping American flag, with his appropriately white shirt sleeves rolled up, Bill Clinton addressed voters in 1992. He promised “to secure a better future for your children and your grandchildren and to make America great again.”

Clinton also looked straight into a camera that year and said, “I want to attack these problems and make America great again.” “It’s time for another comeback,” Bill Clinton said in a radio ad for his wife’s 2008 U.S. Senate campaign.

“Time to make America great again.” Now that my Fox News Channel colleagues have hog-tied Bill Clinton with archived video and audio tape, perhaps he will dump his utterly absurd and disgusting charge that there is anything even microscopically racist, biased, or even snooty about the words “Make America Great Again.”

This phrase is perfectly innocuous, and Trump is just the latest of many candidates to use it. While Clinton, his wife, and their Democratic surrogates may drop this one foolish argument, they most assuredly will not stop trying to split the country with grotesque ethnic appeals and ludicrous “updates” on how Trump and the GOP are itching to advance white supremacy, if not reinstate segregation. The Democrats play the race card, again and again, since it’s the last one left in their deck. The Democrats cannot
