This phrase is perfectly innocuous, and Trump is just the latest of many candidates to use it. Buckley isn't a saint. he frequently used provocative langue for shock value. nothing wrong with that if back up by urbane (refined) ideas.

It's your go to language that is objectionable - not that you are much different from the politically correct speech commissars;
it's the "dog whistle" aspect ( to use your terms) of your speech that is repulsive.

I did not say he was a saint but I would not call him Stalinesque, either as you did with your ridiculous and hyperbolic context dropping. He saw that there were some ugly factions within his coalition and he took them on instead of just denying their existence as many of the "moderate" Republicans here wish to do. Comparing that to what Stalin did is absurd.

I am not employing a dog whistle. I think racism and bigotry are disgusting. I am not sure how I can say that in clearer or stronger terms. What would you suggest?

without vague references to my references. That would be my suggestion.

Clean up your language to the point you are asking a direct question -no I am not easily confused, but I am multi-tasking while working
and you need to make some declaratives without referencing so many prior posts.

Everybody (sic) hates racism- I also hate playing the race card like both Clintons were doing for political advantage
