Tesla Model 3 named winner in KBB’s 5-Year Cost to Own Awards 2022. MAGA wets panties

One, fucking video about one, fucking, bad battery means NOTHING.
It means a lot. This is the typical failure mode of any battery pack. It means a lot to your wallet too. This guy ain't cheap.
And HELLO you ignoramus?
ALL EV's have long, battery warranties.
GM's is 8 years.

What fucking difference does it make if something did go wrong with an owner's battery?
It would cost them NOTHING to fix it.

DUH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
TANSTAAFL. It costs you plenty to fix it.

This is from a FORD DEALERSHIP:

'WHAT MAINTENANCE IS NECESSARY FOR MY ELECTRIC VEHICLE?
Ford Mustang Mach-E on the Road

As aforementioned, very little is necessary. Simply due to the lack of a combustion engine.
'

https://www.lafayetteford.com/what-are-the-maintenance-costs-and-requirements-for-an-electric-car/

THIS IS FROM KIA'S U.S. WEBSITE:

'The simple answer is: Electric vehicles require considerably less maintenance than fuel-powered cars.'

https://www.kia.com/eu/about-kia/ex...n/how-much-maintenance-do-electric-cars-need/

And I can find TONS of links that say the same thing.

Do you understand it yet?

Or can you not fucking read?

Fucking, closed-minded dinosaur.
Since your source is sales brochures, you obviously have no clue about the costs of maintenance. Fucking, close-minded, clueless, ingrate.

How many people really need to go cross country? Most "cross country cars" are just conspicuous consumption. It is a sad attempt by balding men to change the subject from their balding.

Ingrate. You completely fail to appreciate the many people that drive cross country every day, all day, just to keep your city lifestyle possible.

Yeah, I remember in the late 70s after the fuel crisis, everybody wanted fuel-efficient cars so they started buying Japanese and left US car companies in the dust. Because of that, many fanatics went ape-shit with criticism over Japanese cars just like they're doing now with EVs.

But the EV cat is out of the bag. Anybody who's considering an EV will do the research and be able to separate the facts from the bullshit. And they will see their neighbors buying, driving and loving their EVs. That's the best advertising right there.
I've owned my Tesla Model Y DMLR for a year and a half and you know how much I've spent on maintenance?

$0

So you don't take care of your car. Your problem, not mine.

'As a rough estimate, electric vehicles have about 1/10th of the ongoing requirement for repair and replacement parts.'

True or False?

The average EV requires FAR, less maintenance than the average ICE?

False authority fallacy. Sales brochures don't talk about the costs of maintenance except for sales purposes. It has nothing to do with actual costs.

Nobody is arguing over maintenance costs. Some of us aren't ready to have our transportation limited buy other people's whims. We prefer choices.

I am. He's getting his numbers from sales brochures and often just making up numbers. He is completely ignoring the costs of maintaining any new car.

T. A. Gardner was arguing over maintenance costs.

And I am simply showing him that - like 'em or hate 'em - the average EV vehicle requires FAR, less maintenance than the average ICE (internal combustion engine) vehicle of similar size, weight and power.

I agree with that.
I think the government should stay the FUCK out of the ENTIRE auto market (as well as the ENTIRE economy).
I despised the fact that Tesla was given huge breaks by the Obama government.

And the tax breaks are ludicrous.
The average person that buys an EV is upper middle class to wealthy.
Thus, these EV tax breaks are tax breaks for the wealthy.

However?
I LOVE the performance of EV's.
The instant, throttle response.
I love the low maintenance.
The environmental part is fine - though that matters little to me.

But they are too expensive right now for most people.
However, I believe when and if GM can/will build a solid EV (like the Chevy Bolt) for $20K?
They will have a HUGE hit on their hands.
Without ANY silly, tax breaks.

No, EV's have maintenance like any car. The big difference with EV's is that maintenance is typically performed by the dealer. EXPENSIVE!

No they're not. They run on electricity, moron.
How do they get that electricity, moron????!?
20% of America's energy sources are NOT FROM FOSSIL FUELS (nuclear and renewables).
ZERO percent. Fossils aren't used as fuel. Fossils don't burn.

Both oil and natural gas are renewable fuels.
Nuclear is not.
Coal is unknown, but it plentiful and cheap. So far indications are that it might be a renewable fuel.

With a Tesla, going anywhere but the dealer has severe limitations. Tesla controls all their source code for the software and won't share it with non-dealer shops. You are forced to go to the dealer. They've started doing the same with some parts for the same reason. Tesla gives you no right to repair.

You wish you could own a Tesla like me. But all you can afford is a golf cart. So sad. :(:(:(

Please stop wishing you were me. Remember: Thou shalt not covet...

Why would I want a Tesla? The worst quality, least reliable, car in America, not to mention I need a truck for the stuff I do and Tesla doesn't offer one. They did prototype that hideous POS one that they're not making--thankfully...
