I have never condoned mandatory measures, personally.
To me, the only silver lining to the 'anti-mask' movement is that more people are starting to realize how imbecilic the right can be.

Yes. And that's fine, if you choose to disbelieve science and reality and go with the god(s) under the rock. Most of us have absolutely no problem whatsoever with your choice. What we object to is the insistence that the rest of us don't look under there either, and don't teach our kids to look as well.
Science is a deeply corrupt mess, one that the Maoist Mobs desire to finish killing.

First it was the diving boards.
Then it was the deep end.
I don't know how many pools you've been in, but there is a history in the development of pools,
Once upon a time, a decent pool had a deep end and a diving board.
Energetic kids would line up to go off the diving board, doing all kinds of flips and such to impress one another and test their agility.
No doubt there were accidents.
Insurance companies had to pay claims. Rates rose. Then came the lawyers.
That was the beginning of the end of such swimming pool fun.
First the diving boards vanished. Then pools began to be built that didn't even have a deep end. And finally came the 'No Diving' signs.
Really, they took decent swimming pools and turned them into giant wading pools.
The left didn't have anything to do with all that fun going away.
It was capitalism.
The left has done nothing to politicize science, only quoted it to support a common sense point.
It has been the right which has incredibly cherry-picked science to find (or create) science that supports a narrowly held position.
And that can be seen in the numbers.
It's really not right to give equal coverage to opposing points when one point is supported by 95% plus, and the other has less than 5%.

Yes. Intelligent Design is not science. Period, end of story. The attempt to wedge it into public school curriculums has generally failed, but diligence is required.
One the whole it is, but science is also wrong a lot. Science has also been used in the name of evil as well. Then there's science as fraud--often deliberate fraud and often for political purposes.
So, when science says something, pull out this because you're going to need it.
Just because a "scientist" says it doesn't necessarily make it true. Question and triple check their answers.

Not really. Most "peer" review is cursory and poorly done. Science, like any field, often takes liberties and shortcuts in what it does.
In fact, since computer programs that check for plagiarism, fraud, and other issues in submitted scientific papers have come available, the number of papers retracted has skyrocketed by over ten times what it previously was.
