I played yesterday after a meeting of the Southeastern Oklahoma Sportsmen Association (trying to get our Wildlife Management Area roads re-opened) and shot my PB on this course since I revived my golfing career 😉. I recently joined due to its proximity to my house and finding out that a friend was a member there.

Got home and watched the painful results of the afternoon session. Decided to just watch the Bucs and the Chiefs today. At least the Chiefs are NOT disappointing…so far.

EDIT: Yeah, I know it’s a day later. But my original should have said “Chiefs are not disappointing.

Reading some of the posts on this forum, Leftist's hatred of anything American has become unsurprising. I've already been colored orange...

As I will as well. No matter what it is, I root for the USA in everything, and my state against all others. (I think that makes me racist)

On another note since we're discussing sports, what do you think of the overtime rules in college football? Extra innings in baseball? Kickoffs in the NFL?
Me? I think those who came up with those rules need a good smack on the back of their heads! And a demotion to waterboys (or girls?).
And then there's that idiot who coined a game winning hit a "Walk-Off." Even the GF finds it annoying!

What's wrong with the way the rules used to be? I think they both suck.

"Ghost runner" on second is stupid. Play extra innings like in the past.
If it goes to 18 innings, it goes to 18 innings.

They tried it in college, then went back to past format.

According to leftists and never Trumpers like wacko that is nationalistic and very bad. But maybe they make exceptions for certain things?

You’re talking about the kickoffs, right? I don’t remember them trying it in college and I watch college football religiously.
 
Found a NASCAR race, but mostly worked outside until it got hot after lunch. Tried out a pressure washer and foam cannon Sat night. Foam cannons are fun.

Yep. New rules now. The Big 10 has become the Big 25, too.

But yes, they put a runner on 2nd. to start the 10th. inning
And every inning after.

I believe college football had those dumb kickoff rules for a year,
maybe two., then dropped it and went back to previous rules.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of these rule changes. I think they're stupid.
Just like the football, baseball, college, and even HS names and
mascots changes. What happened to the Washington Foreskins?
Was kinda funny when they were "The Washington Football Team."

Dan Rappaport is a great golf writer. He wrote this about the fans and I almost feel like this could be too kind:

The American Crowd Was Disappointing On Friday and Saturday​

Regarding the crowd…an extreme disappointment. We live in a black-and-white age where everyone wants to latch onto A Reason, post it and soak in the dopamine of likes and comments. But there’s no one reason why the crowd sucked. It was a combination of ticket prices, the scoreboard, general assholery—and the lack of songs.

The European fans, taking inspiration from soccer and pub culture, had at least a half-dozen. They serenade their players and they tease the Americans with creativity. There’s a light-heartedness to it all, a self-awareness. Like, this is all a bit of fun.

On the American side, this week was a nonstop chorus of "U-S-A!" and "Fuck You Ro-ry." A bunch of isolated chirps without any cohesion. What resulted was an atmosphere that felt more unfriendly than anything else. It wasn’t electric, it wasn’t fun, it was just kind of…nasty. The other thing about songs: 10 people singing the same tune sounds a lot louder than 100 yelling random shit. The golfers disappointed inside the ropes and the fans disappointed outside them.

It’s a shame that this is what the event has become over here. It’s so severe that Fitzpatrick’s parents didn’t bother coming because they didn’t want to hear what would be said about their son.
