America should have taken Putin seriously. Biden kept saying there is going to be an invasionAmerica should never have invaded Ukraine.
Based on prior "massing" by Putin, and based on his recent recognition of LPR and DPR-
(designated as terrorist organizations by Ukraine in May 2014) - he could have at least addresses Putin's redlines.
He didnt because he wanted this war -or more correctly the Hawks like Sullivan and Nuland in his adm
wanted the war to use to kill Russians by proxy. Zelensky went along for the ride
It was always a western game to run Brit warships up on Crimean restricted waters,
or bombers along Russia coast, while uber-militarizing Ukraine

One thing I find fascinating is the number of accounts that have revealed themselves to be in Putin's pocket. At one point, it was all just speculation that there were thousands of nominally pro-Trump accounts (or pro-Brexit, or pro-Tulsi Gabbard, or pro-Glenn Greenwald/Matt Taibbi/Julian Assange, or anti-vax, and so on) that were really just paid accounts working on Putin's agenda of driving wedges into the western nations for the advancement of Greater Russia. But then Putin launched a murderous attempt to conquer Ukraine and the mask came off. The very accounts one would expect to be part of the Russian troll farms dutifully went all-in with propaganda designed to smear Ukraine and defend Russia's aggression. Years of careful efforts to create the illusion of being real people who just happened to do the stuff that indirectly served Putin's goals went out the window and they started spouting Moscow's war propaganda verbatim.
All the talk about Putin seeking empire were dramatically confirmed by Putin, when he followed up his more limited land grabs with an attempt to conquer the whole of Ukraine. At this point, there's literally not a single sane person who doubts Putin is pursuing a campaign of imperial expansion.
That's certainly the case when it came to Moscow, which systematically rejected every attempt at diplomacy. The West, however, tried time and again to fix its relationship with Russia. Putin's jackboots stand atop a great pile of olive branches that were offered in vain to him, with the biggest one (and the biggest mistake) having been the refusal to let Ukraine into NATO, with the idea that this would appease Putin and give us peace in our time. Such appeasement never works. Fascists like Putin just see such gestures as signs of weakness, inviting further aggression. Give Hitler Austria and he wants the Sudetenland. Give him that, and he wants the Danzig corridor. Such aggressors will continue until someone finally knocks them on their ass.
you really should at least look at this. The predicate for this war started at the Maidan .
You can still say the invasion wasnt justified, but increasingly Im finding out it was in the cards

The Russians didn't recognize the republics of Donetsk and Lugansk until after EIGHT YEARS of them being bombed by Ukrainian Nazis.
