Racism is alive and well in the US

My wife had a run in with a racist washed up old rock singer. Eddie Money's tour bus stopped at her hotel for the night when she was the Front Desk Manager. Mr. Money was talking to one of her subordinates when my wife approached and waved at him he said to her "Don't interupt white peoples conversations."

Needless to say if that assholes songs come on the radio when we're driving we change the channel.

Really, Eddie Money huh? Wow.

Mott you negligent husband, teach her how to kick a douchebag in the shin. ( instep first for flats, heel first with fuck me pumps)
She should have thrown his ass out of the hotel. She had the authority to do it and her boss told her that's what she should have done but she felt insecure about pulling that trigger.

She did however report it to their company security who investigated the incident with the result that Mr. Money is no longer welcome to stay at that particular hotel chain. Though he did more than just insult my wife.

Yeah, but she took his money. Get it? Took his money.

:rofl2:

You sure are some principled folks. What an investigation it must have been.

DY, I am not addressing this to you but your comment gives me the opportunity to say what I've been thinking about since seeing the clip on the news yesterday about the hateful things that were said about that talented young boy who sang the National Anthem before the Spurs game the other night. It is very sad that in a nation that can elect a president of color the amount of racism there is that exists. I will say that things are better than they were when I was growing up but they are far from ideal. And I don't expect a Utopia when it comes to race either, but I do expect a sight more than what I've been reading lately. I probably have more to say but must get back to playing Monopoly with my boy.

OMG...that's the sweet kid with the Mariachi band that was on AGT last year. He's great!

What kind of pig would say racist things to a kid?

I wish that were true and maybe on a theoretical level it is but your opinion is pretty niave. Race has a lot to do with the real world and if you don't believe that than you have never been the victim of racial bigotry/descrimination.
If your whole society shares this fantasy, for you it is 'real'. Scientifically and every other way it is bilge.

I think that Obama has made things worse, actually. Racists were becomoing fairly calm in their supposed superior position. Now that a neeeeegro is in the white house in some capacity other than butler, they are INFURIATED.

The stereotype lies live on and on....RDS....

But then again, everyone remember, they aren't really racists, they are just kids trolling for reactions. Racism died in 1964 when all the good republicans saved the brown peoples by voting for LBJ's racist CRA. Robert Byrd bad M'kay.

Democrats ignore the pivotal role played by Senator Dirksen in obtaining passage of the landmark 1964 Civil Rights Act, while heralding President Johnson as a civil rights advocate for signing the bill.

Notably, in his 4,500-word State of the Union Address delivered on January 4, 1965, Johnson mentioned scores of topics for federal action, but only thirty five words were devoted to civil rights. He did not mention one word about voting rights. Information about Johnson’s anemic civil rights policy positions can be found in the “Public Papers of the President, Lyndon B. Johnson,” 1965, vol. 1, p.1-9.

In their campaign to unfairly paint the Republican Party today as racists, Democrats point to President Johnson’s prediction that there would be an exodus from the Democratic Party because of Johnson’s signing the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Omitted from the Democrats’ rewritten history is what Johnson actually meant by his prediction. Johnson’s statement was not made out of a concern that racist Democrats would suddenly join the Republican Party that was fighting for the civil rights of blacks. Instead, Johnson feared that the racist Democrats would again form a third party, such as the short-lived States Rights Democratic Party. In fact, Alabama’s Democrat Governor George C. Wallace in 1968 started the American Independent Party that attracted other racist candidates, including Democrat Atlanta Mayor (later Governor of Georgia) Lester Maddox.

Behind closed doors, Johnson said: “These Negroes, they’re getting uppity these days. That’s a problem for us, since they got something now they never had before. The political pull to back up their upityness. Now, we’ve got to do something about this. We’ve got to give them a little something. Just enough to quiet them down, but not enough to make a difference. If we don’t move at all, their allies will line up against us. And there’ll be no way to stop them. It’ll be Reconstruction all over again.”

Another creep exposed. I'll change the channel too, on your behalf.
