Dude you can't pretend that isn't the motivation behind at least a good portion of it. If you honestly believe that, you haven't been on the internet long enough. And it's not something that's limited to America either. With the Brits, it's 'chavs', with the Aussies it's 'Abbos', with Hispanics it's 'gringos', with the Russians it's....well a lot of different people, with the Greeks it's 'kebab'......this is nothing new.

Kebabs are racist? I shall have to tell the guys at the Pakistani run kebab shop down the road from me. Chavs is not about racism, they are all white for a start. Racism is all over the world as you say, Thais hate Indians, Arabs and Chinese, West Indians can't abide Africans, West Africans hate people from the Horn of Africa.

New one on me, I knew a number of ex Army guys at T-Mobile who served in Bosnia. But then kebabs are practically considered as an English native food these days.

I'm not saying that because I think you're a wingnut or that you're a bigot. I'm saying that cause I think you're comments are naive and that you lack the perspective of how people of color are treated by the white majority in this nation. Being married to a person of color I can tell you, this is no hypothetical or theoretical situation. It's a day to day reality and if you don't believe it, then you need to spend more time with people of color and try to learn from their perspective and not your own.

What was really freaky was that her co-worker who he was hitting on, though a very nice lady, shares a striking resemblence to Dick Butkus (without the mustache), where as my wife is simply adorable! (just look at our pic in my profile to see for yourself.). Go figure?

Understood - but 'Welsh' over here is about equivalent to 'Nigger', and the colour of my skin is no great matter. In what way were most of the people Hitler murdered 'Jews', come to that? There are two separate issues - scientific reality (no 'races' but human) and peasant fantasies. Yes, the second certainly exist.

I agree in principle and philosophically......but that's far removed from day to day reality for people of color in our country.
