Palin's hypocrisy!

I know I am late to this thread but I laughing my ass of at Jarod's opening post. Asking how someone is doing as President is practicing the politics of personal destruction? WTF Jarod?

I can just see you at work Jarod when your boss wants to discuss your performance and you ask him to stop attacking you personally.

You've no doubt seen the speech where she asked how Obama is doing. Did you happen to see that smug smirk she had plastered on her face as she asked that question?

If you're talking about the "hopey, changie" line, that sort of thing is exactly what endears her to the several of the groups that like her. Again, my wife thought it was hilarious...and thinks it is hilarious that the media is making such a big thing out of it. We also have to keep in mind the make-up of the crowd she was addressing too. That sort of gathering would expect that sort of line from their speakers, IMO.

THat does not mean she should give it to them, especally when talking about changing the tone in Washington!

I didn't say it was the "right" or "politically expedient" thing to do, just that it is what they expected when they got her to talk to them.

I never said you said that, I am merely pointing out that she was being hypocritical.

I see the "hopey changey" line as a perfect example of Palin's mindset.

It was a high school, drama queen cheap shot one might find in a speech given by a candidate for Prom Queen, but one that has no place in REAL debate.

However, you are right about one thing!

Many of her supporters listening to that speech never progressed past the same high school mentality, and as long as they are cheering her snippy little putdowns, they don't have to remind themselves about the empty, rambling "answers" Palin gave to Katie Couric.

It certantly was not a presidental comment. You would never see President Obama take a snide swipe like that.

Well, that can be debated too, as we have seen on this thread. The last thing I want to do is to come on here and defend Sarah Palin. She would be the democrats best republican candidate for just about any national office. I just wanted to point out the "why" as to her making that statement.

I agree with you on the why...!

*sigh*

In the Press room, there is a teleprompter. The Press complained that pictures were obstructed so they moved it to the back of the room on a large screen TV. He uses the teleprompter at most times even during what you are calling "unscripted" appearances.

With all those um's, er's, and ahh's, the typer must have a stutter.

So then how would one question (maybe negatively) the job the President is doing then so it is not a personal attack? Do you
agree with my assessment then based on your resoning if your boss at work is questioning your performance he is personally attacking you?

I find it interesting that she could give a whole speech with 7 or so words written on her hand and no 'prompter and people are trying to say it makes her somehow "stupid" when it is actually evidence that she is a gifted speaker who is capable of delivering a speech on a topic with simple cues. Seriously, that is tough to do.

It's because if they were actually honest about this, it would completely detroy all of their "rant-du-jours".

Why expect her to look "presidential".....do you expect Pelosi or Olbermann to seem 'presidential' when they speak?
She's a civilian speaker giving a speech, she's not running for any office and not campaigning....stop sounding like a complete dunce...

Did Obama sound 'presidential' when he said "corpse- man" instead of 'corps-man"...? then again I'm not sure you know the difference.

You just about made me spew coffee out my nose! Nooo, The Great Messiah Obama would NEVER take a snide swipe like that.... "I heard he drives a truck!" He is just too above doing anything like that... "you can put lipstick on a pig..." Not our wonderful president! He just wouldn't ever take a snide swipe at anyone!

FUCKTARD!

You're kidding, right?

You do know when she gave that speech, she had a WRITTEN COPY of the speech ON THE PODIUM right in front of her, don't you? If you watch closely enough, you can see her repeatedly glancing at the written copy.

The words written on her hand were to help her answer the pre-screened questions she took later...

Not with a snide remark like "hows the hopeie changie workin for ya".
