Obama LIES about oil production... liberals silent

Inconvenient Truth ...

The Irony Of President Obama's Oil Legacy

There is a great irony that spans the presidential terms of George W. Bush and Barack Obama. President Bush, widely viewed as a Texas oil man, presided over eight straight years of declining U.S. crude oil production. In the year 2000, just before President Bush took office, U.S. crude oil production averaged 5.8 million barrels per day (bpd) according to the Energy Information Administration (EIA). During President Bush's last year in office, 2008, U.S. crude oil production averaged 5.0 million bpd.

The irony is that President Obama - who is not viewed as a friend of the oil and gas industry - has presided over rising oil production in each of the seven years he has been in office. (On a separate note, expect that streak to be broken in 2016). From that low point in 2008, U.S. oil production has grown each year to reach 9.4 million bpd in 2015 -- a gain of 88% during Obama's presidency. This is in fact the largest domestic oil production increase during any presidency in U.S. history.

DESPITE OBAMA it rose. Not because of him. How hard is that for you to comprehend?

BOTH Impacts each other ...

the stock market tripled over eight years yet we never had a year of 3% GDP growth. Even liberal icon Paul Krugman has stated the stock market is not the economy. There can be very different drivers.

Most of the growth in oil that was extracted came from state and private lands. The Obama Administration took steps to curtail extraction on federal lands. If anyone wants to argue otherwise I'm open to hearing it.

Obama did lift a ban on crude oil exports in 2015 which was beneficial

No.. Obama did NOT prevent drilling on Federal Lands.. There were more than 4,000 leases optioned on Federal Land during the Bush administration which remained UNUSED.... and another 5-6,000 available but no companies were interested.

After BP's Deepwater Horizon disaster, Obama put a moratorium on wells in over 500 feet of water. The problem was that BP had found a way around the required safety audits (by design) so that it was farmed out piecemeal and NO ONE could be held accountable.

However, there were 3-4,0000 wells in the Gulf of Mexico which were NOT affected.

How am I deflecting? Obama gave a speech. He lied in it. I posted a thread on that. What exactly is the deflection?

Your article only makes the distinction between oil and natural gas production on state and privately owned land versus federally owned land, whereas Obama made no such distinctions or claims that production on federally owned land increased under his administration.

Energy production on state and privately owned land within the US still counts as US energy production.

Therefore, you are trying to run a massive deflection.

Do you honestly think anyone is dimwitted enough to swallow that bullshit?

Get lost, Trump sucking loser.

 That's Odd ... so are you saying Tax-Breaks for The Rich didn't work?

I'm Shocked :awesome:

You're the only one in this Thread saying it is ...

BOTH OIL PRODUCTION and THE MARKET; impacts each other.

Say it ...

LMAO... yes, he did prevent it. Saying there are unused leases as evidence that he didn't prevent oil production? LMAO.

Dude, ff posted about the obama economy, you responded with stock market numbers. Not sure what to tell you other than that's not the economy. (and that has nothing to do with Obama or any President)

It rose on state and private lands. it declined on Federal... you know, the one that Obama actually had control over.

No it didn't .... Think for yourself. Learn about the oil business. Oil companies still hold thousands of options on Federal lands that they have had for decades. They don't like to drill on Federal lands and the president cannot tell the oil companies WHERE to drill.

Probably news to Don.

You nincompoop.. Those leases on Federal Lands have been optioned for DECADES.. You can 't force oil companies to drill on them.
