NPDES applies to the discharge of the water during the skimming process. It doesn't apply to burning since they don't discharge water. Good thing the air regulations don't apply or this technique couldn't be used either.

Let's be clear, the government is doing NOTHING to stop this leak! They have been contacted by the Dutch and the Saudi's who have extensive expertise in dealing with spills like this, and they have the engineering know-how to help, but Obama and Company have refused to accept their help.

This damn well will continue to spew crude into the gulf through the summer, and this feckless leadership will continue to stand around with their hands in their pockets, appointing committees, blaming BP and the oil industry in general, and trying to politicize the disaster in order to pass cap and trade legislation. In fact, at this point, I have to wonder if Obama actually WANTS this disaster in all its glory.... never let a good one go to waste, right?

Brain dead is ignoring the actual actions of some of the people who clearly worship him to pretend that "racist" isn't overused and worthless in any "argument" anymore. You've taken all the power from it by using it in so many contexts that it has become meaningless. (That's "you" as in people who use it at any time anybody criticizes a specific agenda).

Really? Then why wasn't Bush "The Messiah" He was on a self proclaimed mission from God and his followers believed that implicitly? Why wasn't Clinton the Massiah? Why wasn't George H. W. Bush the Massiah? Why wasn't Ronald Reagan "The Massiah"? Why wasn't Carter "The Massiah"?

Often people referred to him as "your messiah" (Jarod comes immediately to mind) to people who were constant apologists for Bush. Dixie specifically will remember being told that Bush was his "messiah", in that case it was often Cypress and Onceler who did it, in all the "LOL, he said he loves bush's butt in jeans" posts (I'm sure you'll remember those), it was said often.

Your selective memory only works in your own favor, if everybody's memory would work that way you might even be able to use it to your advantage, but in reality, you're just making crap up and trying to say, "But, only people who notice he's black would use 'messiah' to describe him!"

As for the "Bush in jeans," - yeah, Dixie caught a lot of abuse for that, and I still bring it up often. It was an unabashed love letter to Bush, that he has since tried to distance himself from.
