Nixon Redux: Comey Fired

I don't even know what that means lol.
I thought you guys were all over Comey for flipping the election when he intervened 11 days before the election.
You have a change of heart about him?
the resistance must go on -logical or not!
( now you're going to hear it was to kill Russiagate)

Well now we can second guess with hindsight how he should have handled the Clinton email.
IMO, he should have ended the email investigation with no recommendation one way or the other about indictment.
"This is what I found, this is what the law is and now it's in Loretta Lynch's hands." Clearly hrc broke the letter of the law. Lynch was already corrupted by the Bill meeting , she wasn't going to indict, so why even recommend no indictment? Just leave it at that.

I was disgusted when Comey let her off, but now I feel sorry for him. At the time of his press conference everybody in the world knew Hillary would be the next POTUS and Loretta would be staying on as AG. It was all worked out on the tarmac.

Really, what call could he make? Recommending charges would have been met with a firm No from Loretta.

The problem is Lynch all but formally recused herself. 'I'll accept Comey's recommendation" is what she said after the meeting with Bill.
So Comey had no choice but to indict or not.

Being as it was a matter of great national interest, and being as whatever he would do/not do put him right in the middle of the election. He was a victim of circumstances.

But with all the direct evidence against Hillary -directly contradicting her own words- he had to explain not indicting. That was the long explanation he gave.
If he didn't we would all be screaming even more then what we did that Clinton was in de facto violation of the gross negligence section of the Espionage Act.
He had to explain that while she was n direct violation, he chose not to prosecute because in his opinion she hadn't the intent to violate

It was a damned if he did, damned if he didn't situation

Did Comey cost Hillbag the election because of his "misconduct"?

ROFLMBO! Your logic won't work on Jarod. I've been watching FOX news for the past few hours and laughing so hard, I've cried. Watching all these pajama boy libs frantically trying to figure out just how they're supposed to respond. They are in the throws of apoplectic hysteria as usual. Not a rational thought amongst them.

So, far they all start their opinions on the Comey firing with things like, "I don't like Comey, but..." or "Comey cost Hillary the election, but..." or " I'm no fan of Comey, but we need answers!!!!!!!" or "The timing of this verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry suspicious!"..................on and on.

They're coming up with conspiracy theories, coup attempt, Trump is hiding his real reason, etc. :palm:

Yup, there's no pleasing the Trump Derangement Syndrome lot. If Trump fails to take action against someone the left hates, they hate Trump. If Trump does take action against someone the left hates, they hate Trump.

They're rage-filled morons running around falling on their own swords.

Trump's confidence in all federal employees is based on his belief in their dedication to him at any moment.

Nice potus you s voted for!

Uhhhh, yeah...I hope so...loyalty is a good thing. :palm: Just ask Obama...he was good at firing those not affirming his beliefs. It's kind of any President's prerogative.

Comey should have handled the email issue any way but how he did lol.

He could have said to Lynch 'no, it's not my purview to make prosecutorial judgments, that's on you'. Or failing that, privately communicated his recommendations to Lynch.

But he got all sorts of face time on the tube. And he did it again in October.

Attention whore.

Schumer was all sanctimonious on one of the media channels a minute ago lol. As much as liberals want this to be about the Russian investigation, the fact of the matter is Comey was fired for the way he handled the Hillary investigation. It was unprecedented for an FBI Director to play the role of prosecutor.

Comey should have been fired by Obama[!]---like that ever would have happened lol. But myself and others were jumping straight-legged at the time because it was so off the wall.

And probably unconstitutional. But it got Hillary off the hook and that's all that mattered. Comey should have been fired a long time ago and it has nothing to do with Russia.

Lynch hung him out to dry. That deliberate airplane meet-and-greet with Bubba ensured that Lynch had to hand the ball to Comey for a decision that "she would abide by." She was wrong to do that and he was wrong to accept that inappropriate role. Of course maybe few remember that Comey had no business making a "lawyer's" decision. He was an FBI guy who wanted some political glory by pretending to be a lawyer at that point. That right there was enough to get rid of him.

LOL! All the "Thing 1's" out there were outraged when Comey supposedly flipped the election against Hillary. Now they're outraged that he's fired!

Given everything you said above, trump could have canned Comey on January 21 but he didn't. That's why it's so fishy, that he gets canned in the middle of an investigation.
