the FBI intelligence investigation continues -it's not like Comey was doing it on his own.

It goes back to Lynch meeting Bill Clinton,and dumping the hot mess in Comey's lap.
There had to be time to confirm some DoJ officials...but what it really boils down to is Comey had no political power base
