Minimum wage debate continues

So, let me get this straight. Anyone who reads print gets a blast of ageism. And the reason for this is? Have you demonstrated that one reads electronic sources more carefully ( the evidence says otherwise). Are there IQ tests that suggests some deficiency in those who still read print? Is it just a money issue? (Good luck in getting any meaningful, well-researched sources when the print sources decide to stop subsidizing your use of them online). Try reading a difficult literary work online (say Ulysses) online and then get back to me. Of course, you always have the option of declaring all pre-internet sources as worthless, but I really hope you won't go there. 90 is only an insult to those who have no knowledge of what if feels like.

He was just busting my balls. Don't take it personal.

Minimum wage increase will only force wage equality if the people wake up. The problem is, business has an easy next door policy, outsourcing. And the Right shunned the anti-outsourcing bill that would have stopped the tax deductions for outsourcing. Maybe the Left should have named it something "happy and positive" like the Patriot Act or The Right To Work to pass it.

The only real answer to this is to ensure our business holds other Countries to the same standard we hold our own when producing a product. This would keep the Left in check while also keeping the Right in check. It would lower our minimum wage, but also keep jobs in America that are outsourced to companies that dump their waste and kill their people with it . It's basic balance.

Now that's a brilliant thought! All we gotta' do is just create policy consitency among all countries, whither developed, developing, or polluted, crime ridden, and rotting and whatnot! No, Anti. That is not the only solution. It isn't even the most feasible. The reason outsourcing occurs is because we allow the MOP to be controlled by individuals; individuals who just do their job; that job being to produce the highest rate of profit possible.

Now how do we fix this? It isn't by chasing the impossibility of creating equality among all regions. It's by rooting businesses to the United States. How? By making those with the ability to outsource and those whose jobs will be outsourced.... the same people.

I'm thinking a lot of corporations could outsource their CEO and other top officials, no problem....lot cheaper to get someone from a Chinese province, and the results probably wouoldn't be much different...

I do think our trade agreements could help push for minimum wages and non-polluting clauses overseas. But there's only so much we can do. But those "cheap" goods we're getting from overseas -we aren't paying the full costs it really takes to make them, if you look at air pollution and other environmental factors, and you look at the poor conditions for workers.

Young people are so cute!

I know many folks of all ages who embrace rational, compassionate thought - many of the local elderly are involved in initiatives to reform our country's policies on poverty and the environment. It does, however, make me a little sad to see those whose hearts and minds disintegrate along with their bodies.

It's very cute, like you saying why need a surgeon when a premed student can read and do it.
Young people don't understand experience, how could you.

With us youngins having been given the ability to teach ourselves any subject - for free, at any time -, age is no longer a prerequisite to intellectual know-how.

Whoever you are, know this: Your shoddy life experience doesn't amount to anything unless you've got a head to back it.

The smartest get ahead, bring that attitude on the job when daddy's allowance runs out.
Or try a start up

ps - I'll admit that my comments were brief, not fully spelled out, due to it being pretty early where I am. But commenting on someone's age (rightly or wrongly) instead of mentioning what they were unclear about does not forward the argument at all.

Outsourcing CEO's would be a great joke if you weren't serious.
If you aren't young then I'd ask you to expand on what on its face is comical.

I would take this argument more serious from the left if they actually wanted to fix it. But, they don't. They keep making small changes which don't really do anything so they can keep coming back to the issue.

Democrats never want to fix anything. They want issues

Ah, yes, that part was comical, a joke. But wouldn't it be fun? just think of all those CEOs having to pack their boxes up because we found a nice cheap off-shore source of CEOs to do their job. Wouldn't that be sweet revenge? After all these years of CEOs shipping jobs offshore, blithely ignoring the impact on their employees and their local economy... to walk in one day and say "Sorry, Mr. CEO" (after all, most of them ARE male) "We've discovered a CEO in India who is willing to do your job for half your pay, so you're being outsourced. But HR has set you up with the local job training non-profit; we hear that nursing has a lot of opportunities"....

Why do liberals bemoan outsourcing of jobs overseas, but you never here them feeling sorry for people who lose jobs to technology? Is it they are just non thinking imbeciles who parrot what their betters tell them to?

Why are you so ashamed of your occupation and education.
Oh yeah education is a libtard thing

I am not ashamed of my occupation nor my education. I am secure. You are not. That is why you come on an internet message board trying to brag about a measly $1 million like it is some major accomplishment in 2013.

Nobody gives a fuck and it is chump change. Now if you said that back in 1980, I might have been impressed. But now? Nobody cares. But as long as your lie makes you happy and keeps you knee deep in dogs who cares right?

I admit its bragging, so it's touting mu MBA
You bragging about a short the day after or during a fall is bragging and comical at the same time.
You know I will mock you if you say it.
And I will

What is funny is that you think either are something to brag about. Apparently you have come from very meager means if you think that $1 million and having an MBA is something to brag about. An MBA is a dime a dozen.
