Much of the Right is refusing to back this. The line they wont cross, generally, is exposed. The Right will give lip service to encouraging these guys, but in the end they are not backing armed insurrection.

I kind of wish they would shut down the water and electricity also, but I have to assume those handling this know what they are doing. I hope that justice is evenly distributed in the end.

Personally I think they should give these Con-Queda a choice when its over, pay the Federal Government all of the damages they have caused or go to prison for a very long time.

You are not reading my posts. I am not okay with it. I am against taking discretion away from Judges. I was when the Republicans promoted it, and I am now.

I am generally light on sentencing when violence is not involved, in this case violence has clearly been threatened against the use of the rule of law.

I think the leaders should serve at least 10 years plus restitution to the Government, and then depending on the level of involvement the minor players should get reducing punishments. Anyone with the ability to pay restitution but does not should serve double the time I suggest.

If the leaders pay full restitution to the federal government, I would think a greatly reduced prison time should be given.

Once federal charges are filed there will not be a lot of discretion, federal sentencing guidelines are fairly strict, but restitution does provide an avenue for the judge to depart downwardly.
