These white guys can't loot or riot, they have to save that for when their favorite sports team wins/loses, or Guns N Roses doesn't show up for a concert.

At this point they are burglars and squatters that's all.
If "locked and loaded" LaVoy reacts badly and someone gets shot at, all that could change in an instant, but for the time being the police are correctly avoiding escalation.
