Trump sank it by giving the Taliban everything they wanted back in February 2020, then releasing their prisoners in September 2020, then did absolutely nothing to proceed with the withdrawal he agreed to back in February 2020.
Trump agreed in February 2020 to withdraw by May 2021, but didn't evacuate a single person from February 2020, when he agreed to withdraw, and January 2021, when he left office.
What was his plan to pull us out by May 2021 had he actually won the 2020 election?

The evacuation was a success and it was a very large endeavor, mistakes were made, there always are when we leave a countries we’ve occupied, but thank goodness we are finally out of this disaster.
You simply forget 28% inflation and how it felt to have the news counting the days our hostages were held in Iran. It's easy to forget those things now that we are in a relatively happier time for the interim.
And whether you "refuse" to believe he is worse than Trump, this debacle is all 100% Biden. I do not call the "record number of evacuation flights" that were not necessary before this blunder a "great success", the "record number of evac flights" is a sign of the total and abject failure of this pResident's planning not a success. It's like the nation is having a heart attack due to electroshock therapy ordered by this pResident and we keep telling folks that a record number of hours spent on chest compressions makes it a success.

A complete fucking lie because the only change to Trump's deal that Biden did was to extend the date of withdrawal by 3 months through the end of August, and the Taliban agreed and worked with us to do exactly that.

Carter inherited a country in stagflation. The inflation was only 18%. The hostage crisis was a horrible ordeal, but Trump’s handling of COVID was far worse than Carter’s hostage crisis or inflation.
When he got in he reversed danged near everything, but in this case agreements that had us controlling Kabul (the whole city) not just one airport would be just the beginning.

Trump's plan was to wing it....because had he won the 2020 election, he would need to figure out how to pull us out of Afghanistan by May 2021 despite the fact that he did no preparation or work to do so in the 11 months after agreeing to leave.

No, it really wasn't. Trump was able to remove enough red tape to allow us to get vaccinated in the same year a novel virus appeared (yeah, I was vaccinated in 2020)... That was an actual success. We can rewrite history, but Iran wasn't just the hostages. That pResident tried to overplan a rescue mission that failed so miserably and set us back for quite a long time.
Carter sucked. He sucked so much, that I knew he sucked even through I was literally 9 years old when Reagan was elected. No 9 year old pays that much attention to the news to know that the President needed changing.
