killed 50 from two blocks away from the 32nd floor....

when the government threatens you with death daily for violating 'laws', using guns as their implicit threat, then yes, guns are the ONLY thing available to protect your individual freedom. Unless you're super ninja bruce lee, that is.

My government hasn't done that once in my entire life, much less daily.

So, I'm good right now.

Nah; that's not right either.

you are a slave of the state, serfdom is in your blood. True autonomy is beyond your comprehension. As you said yourself, you literally don't understand.

Go tend the fields bitch. Your lord expects results.

they do it daily. your ignorance about it not withstanding. what happens to YOU if you jaywalk, even if there is zero traffic? you get a ticket, right? now what happens if you refuse to pay that ticket? they sign a warrant and arrest you, but what happens if you resist that arrest? they try to use greater force, and if they feel that their lives are in danger or that lethal force is necessary, they kill you.

it happens daily, if you do not submit to their authority, you can and most likely will be killed by them.

This whack job killed 50 people . . . from above . . .

Can we all agree he should not have had access to a weapon capable causing this carnage?

Reports this morning say he was a pilot and owned two airplanes.

Would you rather he crashed a plane into the crowd?

I just can't make sense of it. I don't think it matters what we do, crazy people are going to find a way to be crazy. This guy seemed to have the means to obtain what he needed and because he killed himself, it's going to be hard to know why he did it.

I have an idea that will 100% prevent these kinds of things in the future.

We should outlaw mass killings. Really create some serious penalties for it.

Problem solved. You are welcome

Liberals always claim they don’t want to ban guns then proceed to push policies that ban guns. Stop it already. You always lose on this issue. But you can’t help yourself.

Just because I am likely to lose does not mean I am going to stop standing up for what is right.

I usually just pay the ticket.

Yeah, jaywalking ticket is not the hill I'd die on. It would take a bit more. I'd just pay the ticket.

Or I'll go to court to contest it - especially if it's speeding or something. They've reduced the ticket every time.

so you'll just surrender your freedom and submit? if that works for you, great. is there some 'right' of yours that you would never surrender? like your right to free speech? would you retain that?

I can't really think of anything that would inspire me to take up arms against authority, which would basically get me killed or thrown into jail for eternity 100% of the time.
apathy?

I never really buy the whole "we need guns to protect ourselves from the gov't" thing. It was plausible 200 years ago. Today? If the people ever wanted to overthrow or resist the government like that, the military would either have to side w/ the people, or remain neutral. No amount of individually owned firearms will make any kind of difference.
you must not have been very good at math in school, right?

There are better, more effective ways to advance liberty. I get that there are still those who don't enjoy freedom to the extent that many do, and I support things like Kaep's NFL protest. But I like living in America, and I like being an American - because we ARE very free.
no, actually we are not. we 'feel' free because we think we can still have a family, FEEL safe, own a home, work, and live day to day in what you might call 'peace', but ALL of those things you consider part of freedom have a price tag that the government has given you. you might not see it, see it clearly, or choose to ignore it, but it's still there. No, you are not free my friend. when the 'law' is set up so that you can be arrested for nothing, be framed by your government, spend years in prison for crimes you didn't commit, be prohibited by law from possessing a weed, or 'told' how to do things in certain ways that you might find repugnant.....then you are not really free. you are just lying to yourself in to thinking that you're free.

I also think it is closer than 2 blocks, he was across the street and the cops are saying it was 300 yards. 1 football field is not far.
