If Obama accepted a jumbo jet from a Muslim country???

I think some might think i am trying to be mean to Damocles and i am not. I earnestly believe he is simply what we would call a "simple" person in times past or a nice way of saying dumb.

I have a friend who rebuilds from the ground out classic cars as his side hustle. Each car usually takes two years or more to complete. His son also loves classic cars and is in love with the Fast Back Mustang from Gone in 60 Seconds.

If Damocles was that friend i know i could buy a complete 2 year rebuild Fast Back Mustang and tell him, his son gets it for the first two years but the ownership turns over to me after. Damocles would then spend two years fixing it up and not see it was a ploy to simply get it to me and is left bewildered.

He would be at a honest loss as to why he could not see the set up. I truly believe that.

- military accepts plane for Qatar today under condition it goes to Trump Library at end of term
- military undergoes necessary security analysis and determines plane can not be retrofitted by end of term
- Military determines that since they will relinquish ownership at end of term ...not to do retrofits
- military either warehouses until end of term or 'saves money' by simply turning the plane over early to Trump library.


Damocles, just as with the Mustang example is left bewildered wondering how he did not see that coming.

You are saying that you Damocles as Mod of a forum have more say than the POTUS and Head of Military who CAN make that decision and has told us very CLEARLY what the terms of acceptance will be.

Can you argue that you, Damocles, believe that requirement will change? Sure but is based on nothing.

Currently we have one crystal clear declaration, by the only person who can make it, stating what the terms of acceptance are and that is it goes to the Trump Library after his term.

Anyone not stupid, operates under those terms if and until they are amended.

Until we see a change in stance THAT ^^^ is the gov't position and Trump as the head of the Military and the one who ultimately who gets to make that call, it does not matter if Damocles says 'ya but he may change his mind or accept another position LATER'.

That is the CURRENT position of accepting the Jet and the only one that matters.

If Trump got the jet today it is under that, as the SOLE position he has put out for accepting it.

So i won't say you are babbling as you are just being stupid in trying to say 'what Trump, as Commander in Chief of the Military says does not count and instead listen to what I, Damocles is telling you MIGHT change in the future'.

Damocles would say that might change in the future so we should not judge based on how it is currently controlled by Trump.

I, however, am not stupid and live in a reality where you take the current situation as the accurate one until there is an indication and follow up to change it.

He is CIC, and it’s going to be controlled by the military until Trump is no longer CIC. Then it becomes owned by the library which The Felon will control.

Yes but i am not sure why you are telling me this. Is there something i wrote above that you thought suggested anyone but Trump would control it as soon as it is transferred to his Library?

And i do not believe that it will remain in the Military's hands until the end of Trumps term as the first thing that the military will do, upon taking possession of it, is an assessment on 'cost to convert' and 'time to convert'. That assessment will clearly show it makes no sense to do any of the work to convert it since it will not be operable during Trumps term and before it is turned over.

So what then? Warehouse it for years, at taxpayer cost only to give to the library, 3 years from now? Or just hand it over to the library early, while proclaiming you are saving tax payers money?

Trumps private jet, has been mocked by the uber rich for years as a flying relic. No one has thought he had the money to replace it. This plane would then immediately replace his aged jet for his families use.
