Has the Dam broken?

If you are a public person and you disagree, you risk getting cancelled. Liz Cheney, and many others could explain that to you.
Liz Cheney witness tampered in an effort to "get Trump" and needed a Presidential pardon. She should have been indicted.

For people who really don’t want Trump or another America First candidate in office, the focus should be on what Democrats can do to win back voters. That’s not as much fun though. It’s easier to focus on anti-Trump messaging and call his supporters racists, sexists, or fascists, instead of looking at what’s happening in the country and in our institutions that makes people want to vote for him or for Republicans.
I have no idea what Democrats can do to end Trump or America First. I do not like gerrymandering, although the Republicans are doing it, so I guess the Democrats have to if they want to be relevant. We have a lot of uneducated and irrational voters who do not believe in Democracy or the Constitution. There are forces on both sides making up all kind of lies, and nobody seems to understand how to critically evaluate facts.

I blame the assault on Public Education since the 1980's and the internet. I remember the predictions that this would happen. My best hope is for the Republican party to go back to being Conservative on things other than social issues.

After years of sycophancy, groveling, and eating crow, at least three Republican senators have publicly stood up to the TACO in Chief!

We had an unprecedented three Republican senators come out against the way Trump threatened Jimmy Kimmel. Not just any Republican senators, but Ted Cruz and Rand Paul were two of them. This has never happened before. Ted Cruz has been kissing Trump‘s ass ever since he got trounced in the Republican primary almost 11 years ago. I have never seen him take Trump on directly, and the very interesting thing was Trump did not punch back.

The American people seem to have supported Disney and ABC when they finally stood up to Trump on the Jimmy Kimmel issue. Trump has shown weakness in this event. Other smaller things like the clear, sabotage the experience at the UN, and his ineptness to do anything about it might be signaling a turn.

I’ve seen over and over again when presidents finally reach the point where their own side is willing to criticize them, they are significantly rained done. I don’t believe it’s a coincidence that this is happening at the beginning of the start of a congressional election year. In a few short months, the focus will be off Trump and onto the nationwide campaign. No matter who wins the house and Senate next year, the end of that race will mark the start of the 2028 presidential primary elections.

Once a few Republicans declare, the emperor has no clothes, I think the dam will have burst. There comes a point where Trump’s power to Lord over congressional Republicans will weaken to a teeny trickle. When that happens, the resentment and anger that they have had to swallow over his treatment of them will come out with a roar.
What a bunch of drivel.

Name one time anyone in the democrat party stood up to Obama or Biden on anything significant?

You act like Republican senators haven't ever screwed Trump?

Makowski?
Collins?
McShamnesty?
Grahamnesty?

Come on Veruca be better.

Tell me a time when Obama or Biden publically made threats against a network because they were upset at jokes about them.

Are you OK with the president using the justice department for revenge?

You got to be kidding. All biden's Justice Department under comey did was to go after Donald Trump, and all to no avail.
You should wait to see the outcome of this criminal comey's sentencing before blabbing on about a Trump revenge.

You're response, they're either irrational or uneducated, is exactly what I meant. It's a mindset of the default position is everyone should vote Democratic, and if one doesn't it's because they are racist, sexist, fascist, irrational or uneducated.

I've listened to what liberals have said about the state of the party. Here's a summary:

- They've lost their focus on economic issues, especially for the working class, with more of a focus on cultural issues.
- There's a cultural disconnect with the party coming across as elitist and too dismissive of those who aren't highly educated or live on the coasts
- They have pushed too far on identity politics which makes the party look out of touch with many
- People have lost faith in the government to deliver and Democrats suffer for that
- Issues in places like California hurts the national perception
- Messaging problems, being seen as something more than just anti-Trump

There's more, but it lays out some of the arguments I've heard.

No, I would say that not everyone should vote democratic, I think most people who vote for Trump did so for an uneducated or irrational reason. I have talked to a lot of people. The Republicans should have nominated someone else, and they should stand up to Trump. People should have followed Damocles and voted 3rd party.

The Democrats are a mess, and the Republicans have lost the reality of what our system is set up for and are abusing it. They have deferred to a single man and treat him like a King. They (by and large) would not dare go against him or ever refuse to do what he says. They confirmed Pam Bondi for example. I agree with most of the things people have told you about the democrats, except this..

... The Democrats have not focused on identity politics, the Trumppers just say we have, and run with it.
... The messaging is awful but I understand why, it's hard to be anything but anti-Trump because every time the Democrats get any traction, he makes himself the gorilla in the room, for some reason being the Gorilla takes attention, and what he did to be the gorilla is so bad, it demands attention, yet his disciples will never thing he did anything wrong.

None of the things you listed about Democrats is anything compared to Trump's attacks on the First Amendment, his criminal behavior, his misuse of the justice department for personal vendettas, just to list the first three that come to mind.

Trump is a criminal and abuses the Government for his personal gain, and has 0 regard for the Constitution, yet the Democrats are losing because they lost their focus? That makes no sense.

Again, your response highlights the exact problem. The second someone raises a critique of the Democratic Party, even coming from liberals, the conversation goes immediately back to Trump. It's like the party's entire existence revolves around him.

Dems are not allowed to talk about Trump?
