Has the Dam broken?

We’re not even a year into the term, and no one’s peeling away before the midterms. Whatever you think of Trump, the America First movement still has a lot of pull with Republican voters.

There are plenty of challenges within your own party it seems you should focus on rather than 100% of your time on Trump.
I can clearly see a future where Democrats win both houses of Congress in the midterm. I can also clearly see a future where Republicans gain seats in both houses of Congress. Time will tell.

Dude, Robert Reich? Come on man. You've got to put a little more effort into than that. Should I grab a Steven Bannon piece on why America is turning against Democrats?
Both Reich and Bannon are geniuses, but Bannon lies a lot. An honest article by either one would be important.

I think Bannon’s intelligence is overstated. A genius wouldn’t get caught ripping people off. His arguments often lack facts.

I agree on that

I don’t disagree they are both geniuses, but I’m not a fan of ideologues. I’ve read a decent amount of Reich and that’s how he comes across to me. I don’t read Bannon, but I assume he’s the same.

I don’t have to agree with someone to enjoy reading them and find them stimulating, but ideoligues don’t do that for me.

Reich has tended to push the pragmatic solution, what the British would call the Third Way. He clerked for Bork. And has had a long history of working with anyone who will work with him.

Actually Reich is very critical of the Third Way. Blames current fascism of Trump on failures of Clinton and Obama's third way conservatism.

Maybe he was like that while in office. His writings now are highly partisan and much more activist, and he frames issues in basically good vs evil terms.

There’s a reason progressives on the board have posted his articles in the Guardian over the years. The same reason my progressive friends on Facebook who love to post memes from Occupy Democrats and The Other 98%, love to quote Reich. And it’s not because he’s a third way or corporate Dem type.
