All applicants for employment with Fulton County are required to disclose the names of
any relatives currently employed by Fulton County on the application for employment. Should an
Appointing Authority extend an offer of employment to a relative of a current employee, it is the
responsibility of the applicant to fully disclose the relationship to the Appointing Authority before
the offer of employment is accepted. The intentional failure to disclose a relative relationship
constitutes a violation of this Policy and may be grounds for rescission of the offer of
employment, non-selection and/or discipline, up to and including termination.
Changes in status
It is the responsibility of every employee to keep his or her Appointing Authority informed
of any changes relevant to the Employment of Relatives Policy and this procedure. Failure to
timely report such changes may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.
Employees within the same department who become related through marriage shall notify their
Appointing Authority in writing within five business days
The Appointing Authority, in consultation with the Department of Human Resources
Management, shall determine whether a supervisory relationship exists between the employees
and, if appropriate, make such changes as are necessary to prevent and/or remedy any
violations of this Policy. Both employees will be permitted to retain their positions within the
department provided that one is not under the direct or indirect supervision of the other. If one
employee is under direct or indirect supervision of the other, the Appointing Authority shall
consult with the Department of Human Resources Management to identify alternative
arrangements for reporting, evaluation, assessment, and supervision.
The term "relative," as used in this policy, also
includes relationships between individuals who are in a consensual romantic, sexual, dating or
other intimate relationship, regardless of whether they are cohabitating.

It is NOT a conflict if two lawyers on the prosecution or two on the defense are dating since they have the SAME interests. Thus no 'conflict'.

So do I. Always at least ten grand in cash is in my safe at all times. Given the bank interest rates, it really doesn't cost that much. But the bottom line is that they did not lay a glove on Willis. She should not have engaged in that relationship, but it clearly has nothing to do with the trial. Bad judgement? Yep. Nothing more.

it was not at all uncommon for people from older generations to keep significant cash around.
If you were from a poorer community, especially a black one, it was considered even more wise to keep a few months worth of cash, if you had a good job and could afford to tuck some cash away.
That is because they (the poor and especially minorities) did not have good historical relationships with banks and/or gov't and if their funds got frozen, they could lose almost everything.
Even if the funds were frozen wrongly it could take several months to get them cleared, meanwhile your landlord is evicting you, and your credit cards are being cancelled and your credit ruined. The bank or Gov't might accept your account is fine and release it, but they will not repair the damage done.
So a lot of older, especially minority people, wanted to have enough cash to cover several months, in an emergency.
It's happened to me twice. ETrade was the worst, I decided to give them a try. I had money wired into the account. Three weeks later I was moving some cash, and they froze the account, demanding to know the source of the funds. It took me two months to clear that up.
I have two checking accounts, I keep funds in both, the account attached to my investment account is my backup. You can't put bank accounts or Roth IRAs in a trust, so that money is exposed, and mistakes happen all the time. Everything else I own, including my home, is in trust. I still carry a million dollar umbrella policy. I have faith in the system, but not enough faith to leave myself exposed.
