DeSantis showboating could cost Florida billions

Funny because there's some truth in that, but it's not completely true. Lots of uneducated dumbasses on the Left. IIRC, there's also more college graduates in the middle or leaning Left.

That is what the statistics say, yes. That's why RW pundits and politicians constantly denigrate higher education and those who have it.

do you believe the 51 intelligence officers for hunter laptop truth?

And yet the Republi'cans' NEVER offer any legislation that would actually improve the process and make legal migrant labor more accessible and efficient. They refuse any attempts at bipartisan work committees to solve this.

You cannot solve the issues in Farming, and much of hospitality without migrant labour by simply forcing wages up in the hopes that Americans rush in to those jobs without causing massive inflation and mass segments of industry to be lost in America. Denying some areas and corporations that labor means the end of those industries along with mass inflation both.

Are you willing to say you will not blame Biden and Dems as Farms and other businesses close and inflation spikes? Or is that the point of pushing solutions that CANNOT work?

trump was trying to build a wall..

trump had remain in mexico.

you globalist dems and neocon fake republicans are opposed to both.

and trump did tariffs on china, epically.

Breaking…S.C. outlaws race as college admissions factor.

The way to stop discrimination is to stop discriminating…the S.C. just stopped the discriminating.

This ruling would have prevented the afimative action choice for V.P.

dem nazis are hard-pressed to abandon their racist policies of preference.

It also explains why the ranks of the major parties have shrunk and the ranks of the Independents have increased. :)

Tell them to come here legally

Long term, yes. Short term, iundocumented workers are contributing billions of dollars to the Florida economy, DeSantis is driving them en masse out of the state. Do you honestly believe you are not partonizing businesses that employ undocumented workers? They dominate a number of business sectors. Those sectors, especially hospitality, are going to be crippling to many businesses and cost the state billions of dollars. How about you address that instead of posting your bumper sticker response. In your own words. See if you can get up to two sentence responses.

Wouldn't it be better to work out a bipartisan plan to allow these workers to become documented and legal? The (R)s control the U.S. House; why aren't they putting forth some solutions, rather than whining about nonexistent "problems" like trans athletes and CRT and Hunter Biden?

No doubt. A comprehensive immigration plan (like the ones passed by the Dems and buried by Mitch McConnell) to address all of these issues. Until that time, this is a cure that will make the entire state sicker.

So it's all the Right's fault?

How are American voters being dumbed down?

The current state of much of the 'Right' is that America failing and falling into anarchy and disarray is seen as a plus to them.

They cannot tolerate the current trajectory where Women and PoC are now starting to have the numbers to win in free and fair election and their priorities and views start getting reflected in gov't. They cannot tolerate 'Democracy'.

That see path thru authoritarian rule, if they can seize it (Trump coup, Independent Legislature, Captured SC, etc) , where they can set things back, maybe for decades so that the White male vote again is the dominant vote in the country.

That is MAGA literally means. The 'AGAIN' part is to harken back to the past when they thought it was great when PoC votes counted as 3/5th a white vote (or they could not vote at all) and women knew their place and did not vote.

That is the one honest pronouncement by Republiclowns when they speak to a time that was 'Great'... but great for WHOM? If you were not a white male and had any interest in your own voice having power those were NOT great years.

If the Florida economy falters in comparison to other states, then DeSantis can blame the "Woke" all he wants, but I think most voters will see through the charade.

He no longer cares about Florida. He cares about being President, so the impact being restricted to Florida isn't a concern for Lil Ron Ron. Maybe Texas can join the fun so Abbott can flex too :)

If he fails at becoming President, then he would have burned a major bridge be it as Florida's governor or Senator.

Given everything you wrote is true, what is your solution?

Election turn out.

They know this is really the last election cycle that will be close enough for them to be able to steal it with the games. Soon no amount of games will see it in reach as they fall further and further behind. Just a couple election cycles ago a 3-4MM vote loss was seen as insurmountable to over come via the Electoral College but the republicans were hard at work rigging the game so they could still win with that gap. But then Biden won by 7mm votes and they again fell short. It will only get worse. a 10MM loss is coming as more and more people who are not white males reject their positions on old white men dictating to women their health care around abortion and other serious and deadly issues for women and PoC increasingly reject them turning back the rights clock.

The Supreme Court just dealt them a blow on the one major thing they really wanted that could have given old white men the wins for decades to come, while giving women and PoC the finger, with the death of the INdependent Legislature theory.

So give it an election cycle or two, and Dems will win each time so decisively that it will force the republi'cans' to change. And change they will as they crave power more than an ideology. There is a coalition just waiting for the republicans to embrace that would make them competitive and a likely winner over the Dem candidates. An old school truly small gov't conservative that has strong 'religious based' family values that are not extreme. They would see a whole swatch of Dem voters in the Latino and Black communities support that party.

It would not be a party i would support but it could easily win.

They just cannot pivot to that now, as Trump embraced the part of the base that feeds off of hate for women and PoC, having any place and they now have to play that hand out. Once that hand shows no signs of life, no path to power, they will dump them and move on.

I remember when he lied and stated he wouldn’t run for President in 2024, because he was running for re-election in Florida. I knew at the time he was lying, but Floridians fell for his lies.

He is term limited out as Governor after this one anyway, so that is why he does not care about burning that bridge.

A Senate seat might be plausible for him, and with the ability to select a 'friendly district' harming 'parts' of the State might not be a deal ender for him.

He certainly has his fans. After Republican redistricting, the deck is stacked in their favor.

The nice thing about being a Senator is no term limits, lots of power and not much responsibility. Perfect for Meatball Ron.
