Which is why two separate House Speakers refused to bring a bi partisan Senate immigration bill to the floor for a vote.

Trump offered 'protection for Dreamers' bundled with other deplorable and destructive and the 'protection for Dreamers' was not permanent, meaning once they got the more deplorable elements in place they could end those protections.


Republi'cans' as i said upthread and as DeSantis is doing now are only interested in games and making things worse as they believe the politics of that helps them.

Are you going to say 'well done Biden and Dems' if that was done, and the migration was shut down but Farms and other industries were closing across the country while inflation spiked massively or would you then blame Biden and Dems for those very things the actions you demanded created?

DeSantis quietly has his emicaries out telling them 'not to worry, not much will actually change on the ground and to try and quell their workers fears and tell them not to leave', as they do not plan to hunt down and punish them.

Meaning the law is for political purposes only, really, with maybe some selective enforcement against perceived 'enemy' targets (hello Disney) but they understand these workers are vital and needed elsewhere.


That perfectly encapsulates todays Republi'can'. We see a problem. We offer our strong armed measures and laws to our base that do nothing but make the problem worse. We know that and so we quietly encourage them to keep doing the illegal thing even as we make it more illegal.

Because we have forgotten that neither side has the answers. We were founded on the necessity of compromise in govt.. Now the only thing that matters is getting elected, so absolutely nothing gets accomplished. Compromise is not allowed by the Right.

I think the real problem is the dumbing down of the electorate, which rears its ugly head in primary elections.

And yet the Republi'cans' NEVER offer any legislation that would actually improve the process and make legal migrant labor more accessible and efficient. They refuse any attempts at bipartisan work committees to solve this.

You cannot solve the issues in Farming, and much of hospitality without migrant labour by simply forcing wages up in the hopes that Americans rush in to those jobs without causing massive inflation and mass segments of industry to be lost in America. Denying some areas and corporations that labor means the end of those industries along with mass inflation both.

Are you willing to say you will not blame Biden and Dems as Farms and other businesses close and inflation spikes? Or is that the point of pushing solutions that CANNOT work?
