Batgirl’ movie gets ‘shelved’ by Warner Bros. despite $70M price tag: source

This is now obviously an organized effort to get the studio to back down.

It has been claimed as a total tax write off. If they release the film now, they will lose huge amounts in tax penalties. This is a film that will not be released for a long time... Not until they can make it seem like it had no value.

Mr. Tiny Penis, in spite of your afflictions I still love you.

I appreciate it. Here's my love in return, son:

We are more than three weeks in and we still have no idea what is going on, those who know are refusing to be honest with us.

The "Let me cry for you!" pressure is certainly revolting though.

Who, besides you and a few other Left Coast jobless losers, gives a shit, #10?

But let's get real for a second.....Batgirl in the early comics and the TV 60's show was caucasian and "straight". The recent TV Batgirl was gay, then black & gay....obvious pandering to specific audiences for that advertising revenue ("asses in the seats" as the old showbiz saying goes).

As for all the other Hollywood machinations....ehh, not really all that interesting to anyone not a comic con fan, directly involved or invested.

The cancellation of the movie was a business decision.

There are definitely more minorities in movies than there were in the 1960's, especially more lesbian characters. Catwoman was Black in the last Batman movie, and just about everyone is a lesbian in the Harley Quinn cartoon series. That being said, I doubt that had anything to do with the business decision.

To me, it's all just noise. I hate what I call "stunt casting".... that's when the racial/ethnic or sex of a long standing character is changed in an attempt to gain more audience revenue. "Diversity" has nothing to do it in as much as economics. Achieving real life reflections of society is one thing, but the aforementioned is quite another. If the entire Civil Rights generation made it intact WITHOUT making the Lone Ranger black (but watched the show), and Native Americans are still here despite being portrayed in movies and TV by non-Native actors, then the current generation should be able to stand watching Marvel and DC characters portrayed as they were the comics that made them famous without losing their minds.

Sorry....this is a pet peeve of mind, and I tend to go on a bit.

I dont believe for a second that you are so ignorant that you dont know how important Hollywood is in our culture, thus the importance of paying attention to what goes on there.

However the chances that you are a liar are phenomenal.

The Revolutionaries in the 60's decided that they could not take over the country without changing the culture first..... Old America had to be murdered.

Ever since they have been working on that project, and now Americans are by and large ignorant cowards...now the Revolution wins.

"Step right up for your leash and orders"

I do tend to go on about this.

1) take over the universities

2) At the Universities train teachers to be soldiers for the Revolution and capture the kids as they go through the schools, training them in solidarity and Right Think.

3) take over Hollywood so that the cinema teaches the revolution and works to kill old America

4) Take over journalism so that no one knows what is going on.

5) take over the federal government.

6) crush all state governments which refuse to comply.

There is little point in attempting conversation with liars.

And then too there is the not minor problem that you are a DICK.

Then put me on ignore and live an ignorant life.

Sooooo....no utopia tonight, eh? Good. You need to suffer more for your long list of sins, #10.

That Hollywood mostly stopped making movies for smart people and for older people long ago makes a lot of sense in the confines of the Revolutions agenda.

It is the young and the stupid....the more easy to control.....that they focused upon.

.
Apparently the film is a real stinker, that's the real reason I suspect it's been canned. How about Warner Bros doing the life of Martin Luther King...played by Mel Gibson? That's got to be a winner, right?

To me it seems more like just a more diverse cast, and writers... As boring as that.

Holy millions down the drain, Batman!

The DC Comics film “Batgirl” will be completely “shelved” by Warner Bros., a top Hollywood source told The Post.

That means it won’t hit theaters or the streaming service HBO Max. Fans will not see it.

Go woke go broke

Would you like to provide the rationale for why it was canceled? We could read the article, but the OP is yours and I'm not going to risk wasting time.

It just wasn't good after some screenings.....and if it's shelved it can be written off....

A movie failed... You understand that not all cancelations are part of "cancel culture"... In fact, I am beginning to think "cancel culture" does not even really exist.

Marvel is doing great things. It is extremely successful, feeding on its own success. Meanwhile, DC is failing or maybe just being mediocre, which seems like failure compared to Marvel. How can a universe with Superman and Batman be only mediocre? It blows the mind.

Part of the problem is they let their director get out of control. Marvel has each movie, and TV series feed into a greater universe. That does mean that every director has to fit his piece into a bigger puzzle, so has less control.

I could go on, but none of it is about being "woke." If anything, the Marvel directors are more woke than the DC directors... I am thinking of Joss Whedon.. Whedon is very talented, but he is also very creepy.

Any chance the MAG-idiots have to pin anything on the Democrats they're going to do. They know how unpopular the GOP is and they see their chances to take the house circling the drain. So, anything, no matter how obscure, is going to be a "woke", or "libtard" or, "Demonrat" event.
