Now you're trying to pull this into another theological debate, and that's not what I am interested in here. The first problem is, you are attempting to define "believe in" as meaning someone has to hold a particularly literal viewpoint you have established, and that is just not factually or logically accurate to assume. People believe all kinds of things, and interpret things in different ways. The Bible is very complex, and difficult to completely get your mind around... that's why they have SEMINARY schools! This is why colleges and universities have entire courses on comparative religious studies, and why millions of books and articles are written on the subject. You are quoting passages from the Old Testament, and generally speaking, those are the "Pre-Jesus" teachings of Christianity, before the Reformation, before Jesus died for our sins... these are presented in The Bible to give a complete history and guideline for Christian followers, so they know the whole story, where they came from and how things were in the beginning, so that they better understand Jesus' teachings, and why it was so important. It all goes together as one... you are trying to parse it, then argue it on 'stand-alone' merit, which is intellectually dishonest. I won't engage you in an intellectually dishonest debate on theology. Sorry.

ROFLMAO.... so you quote the bible and tell us ALL CHRISTIANS MUST BELIEVE IN ALL OF THE BIBLE AND CANNOT PICK AND CHOOSE. I respond with OTHER quotes from the bible and ask YOU if all Christians MUST believe in those quotes as well and YOU run away and claim I am trying to start a theological debate?

How the FUCK can anyone counter your stupid claims in a manner that you WILL address the issue YOU brought up?

Also moron.... YOU quoted Deuteronomy.... I QUOTED DEUTERONOMY. Fucking idiot.

But they don't believe in "the same" God. Muslims believe in Allah... and Allah, as defined in Islam, is nothing at all like the God of Abraham, understood by Christians and Jews.

But but ditzie, they just have 'completely different interpretations and understandings of God'. Don't you understand that "you and I can "believe in" something, and have completely different interpretations and understandings of it, of what we actually "believe" it means. Do you comprehend that? "

Yet the claims by Yurt and Ditzie are that Muslims DID alter God.

So the question is... how can THEY claim that while ignoring the great discrepancies between Christianity and Judaism?

The Muslims and Jews both believe in a single God of Abraham. Yet the two buffoons claim they don't and that Muslims 'altered' God. The Christians create the 'Trinity'.... yet somehow they still believe in the same God as the Jews?

To be clear, I believe all three groups worship the same entity. My question was directed at the pathetic 'logic' used by the two dolts.

They all believe they worship the same entity- on that I agree. The point I made is that Christians have not altered the God of Judaism- rather Jews who deny Jesus as the promised Messiah still await him. Meaning that Christian's have not altered God, but rather see the finished work that Jews still wait for. Muslims have usurped Jews as God's chosen people and make that claim for themselves. Christian's make the claim that Christ is the promised Messiah sent to save both Jew and Gentile.

From my link "Ultimately then Islam and Christianity present two very different gods who may share some similarities but who have different identities and ultimately different standards. To pretend they are the same is patronizing to both Muslims and Christians."

The problem is that they do NOT present two very different Gods, they present two very different VIEWS on the SAME God.

It goes back to the analogy I presented to the two buffoons....

A Democrat will typically view Obama in a very favorable light, highlighting his 'pro's' and downplaying his 'con's'. A Republican will typically view Obama in a very negative light. Highlighting his 'con's' and downplaying his 'pro's'.

The two greatly different views are of the SAME man.

all 3 religions believe in the God of Abraham. That is not disputed. Just because different MEN wrote down different VIEWS ABOUT that God doesn't change the FACT that it is the SAME entity that they are describing.

Will you please stop being such an anal retard?

There is no doubt, the Muslims think what they believe is the truth. It's kind of idiotic to believe they could have lasted thousands of years and amassed such a following, unless they totally and completely believed their version as the truth. So is that the point you are trying to make to me? I don't get it... why would they NOT believe it to be the truth?

I am not here to debate whether they "got it right" or whatever idiotic point you want to make, go find a Christian to fight with. I am smart enough to know propaganda when I see it, and to understand history doesn't lie. I can't suspend thousands of years of Christian/Jewish faith, while I imagine Islam as a peaceful religion of Abraham, same as the Christians and Jews. It doesn't comport with logic, it doesn't match history, and it doesn't correlate with reality.

What Muslims have been taught... for CENTURIES... is a false history, a false reality of history, and a fraudulent story. That is not just my opinion, it is fairly well documented, if you pull your head out of your ass and try to be objective. But the suction from your anal retentiveness is keeping your head locked in tight.

It's so interesting when Dixie debates himself...

No... the problem is, they DON'T! But they have people like you convinced, just as they have convinced a billion followers, that it's "the same" God... it's NOT! There are substantial and irreconcilable differences between what Christians believe in as God of Abraham, and what Muslims are taught to believe in as Allah. To argue they are "the same" God, is ALMOST as shallow-minded and ignorant as saying Hindus believe in "the same" God as Christians, he's just wearing a Cow Suit! Buddhists believe in "the same" God... he's just a sitting fat man.

IF you go back before the Koran, to the ancient texts preceding the Koran, the Muslims were taught that Allah was Father of All Gods, and superior to the God of Abraham. Now, how can that possibly be, if they are "the same" God? Mohamed enters the picture and ties Islam to Abraham, in almost identical fashion as the Jews centuries before. But the supposed time-line between Abraham and Mohamed is unrealistic and impossible for any rational mind to believe. There is no historical evidence, you are just expected to accept that people lived for 800 years... 1200 years... then had children... who lived 800-1200 years before having children themselves... it's too far fetched to believe. The 'explanation' from Islam is, the Jews and Christians have lied about the time-line, that it wasn't that much time between Abraham and Mohamed... but the history simply doesn't support this, there are significant records of the time period in question, it did happen, we can't suspend reality and pretend it didn't.... Muslims can, because that's what they have been taught to believe and accept. And apparently, YOU can believe that too! Because you are a PINHEAD!

Well now you are just trying to start a theological debate. I am not here for a theological debate, I am here to tell you that your bigoted views are incorrect.

Thanks for admitting I have proven my point and you have no real refutation to offer.
