I know President Obama is not very popular, generally popularity is not a measure of ability or quality of job done.....
But here we were facing a smaller storm, the Right was all over Obama for taking a vacation, and president Obama leaves his vacation to be at the NHC so he can monitor the situation and be in the game.....
Bush was on vacation for Katrina, it was devistating as predicted by the NHC. Bush did not leave his vacation early, in fact he stayed on vaca for 3 more days, then flew over New Orleans from the comfort of Air Force One to assess the damage.... Then told Brownie, the man who was a champion horse breeder prior to getting the political appointment to be head of FEMA, how he was doing a "heck of a job."!
Jarhead, you are a curiosity indeed. I have never known of anyone who can be so wrong about every sentence they post. Most people are right about something at some time, just out of sheer happenstance, but you have developed your incompetence to a whole new level!!

To the contrary, Obama is VERY popular, 49% of the country support him, even though he has no experience, no qualifications, no record of accomplishment, and nothing but a 'likable' personality. Some might even say, it was Obama's popularity that won him the presidency. After nearly 3 years of total disaster and abject failure, we still see 39% approving of the job he's doing. It must be popularity, because it sure isn't job performance.

Be "in the game?" Did he freaking win a 1-on-1 with the hurricane or something? You know, I bet that's why the hurricane wasn't as bad as Katrina, because Obama challenged it to shoot hoops and it was so scared it downgraded itself to a tropical storm and slipped out of town in the dead of night! Sorry it took Obama away from his normal routine of vacationing with his family, maybe we can scrounge up a golf game with Obama and Global Warming, that should be a good match-up, huh?

Well, he's not as good at shooting hoops or golf as Obama, so it's understandable. If only Bush had Obama's skills, he could have come back earlier from vacation and Katrina would have not been nearly as bad!

FIVE days before Katrina made landfall, President Bush made history, becoming the first president to declare a national disaster BEFORE the disaster occurred. Technically speaking, Bush over-stepped his constitutional authority as president to do this, but he felt it was of the utmost importance to get help there as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, the Democrat leaders of the state, didn't feel the same sense of urgency, and failed to take the formal steps required by the state, in times of disaster.
