Sharp contrast between Bush handeling of Katrina v. Obama's handeling of Hurricane...

my responses are thoughtful and i asked you essentially the very same question STY did. with me, however, you had an meltdown. i don't what your issue is, but it is clear that when you get cornered and busted in a lie, you just lash out. you could have been honest like me and admit your mistake right away. instead, you go down your usual course of heaping more lies upon the lie in order to not admit you're wrong.

i haven ot fabricated anything you've said. do you see what is happening here? i'm trying to discuss the issue with you, you keep attacking and deflecting away from WHO you were talking about. you have yet to expressly say - yes, i was talking about nagin. until you do, there is no point in having any further discussion with you because it is clear you will continue to be dishonest about it because you screwed by claiming you didn't bring nagin up. if you hadn't freaked out and went into meltdown mode, we could be conducting a rational discussion about this.

You are delusional. You need to read back over the past few pages, though I don't think that will help. You're responses were nothing like STY's. You refused to listen to my answers, which I gave many times. I don't even really know what you're talking about, anymore; I brought up Nagin very briefly in the leadership discussion, but it was to make a point about Bush. I was only ever talking about Bush, and have never stated otherwise. And you keep asking like it's some sort of lie or gotcha.

I do see what is happening here. You're fucking dumb as a box of rocks, and not interested in debate. Look at STY's reply; it is the reply of someone interested in debate, not gotchas.

By this time, warnings had been going on for days...to the entire Gulf region, including all of the Gulf States.....

8/27
Bush declared a federal state of emergency on 8/27 per Gov. Blanco's request...
releasing federal funds for financial assistance....(assistance by the Federal Government to State and local governments in carrying out their responsibilities to alleviate the suffering and damage which result from such disasters)

FEMA was called in
Military assets and personel were deployed
2633 Nat. Guard and Air Nat. Guard were deployed .

Nagin announced a state of emergency and called for voluntary evacuation...

8/28
Storm makes landfall at 5 am....(Cat. 4 storm- 125+ winds)
by 9 am ...8 ft of water covers the 9th Ward
10 am ...Nagin declares that "a mandatory evacuation order is hereby called for all of the parish of Orleans.( a little late..at the height of the storm )
12 pm... Superdome is opened
2:00 pm.....Governor Blanco ordered 68 school buses into New Orleans from surrounding parishes to begin evacuating any survivors that remained in the city.
( a little late..at the height of the storm )6908 Army National Guard and 933 Air National Guard were deployed (7,841 total). Governor Blanco and the National Guard stated that they could "handle it". FEMA Director Michael Brown also urged local fire and rescue departments outside Louisiana, Alabama, and Mississippi not to send trucks or emergency workers into disaster areas without an explicit request for help from state or local governments. Brown sought the approval from Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff five hours after landfall to dispatch 1,000 Homeland Security workers into the region. Brown acknowledged that this process would take two days. He described Katrina as a, "near catastrophic event."

QUESTION :
Now WHAT else should or could Bush have done ?

Give it up Damo, you are obviously "deranged" because you can't see that Obama is greater than Bush in defeating hurricanes! It is obvious how brilliant this man is, he cut his vacation short to come to Washington so he could "get in the game" with the hurricane... a move I am quite sure the hurricane NEVER expected! Just the mere presence of Obama arriving back in DC on AF1, was enough to frighten the hurricane into downgrading itself to a tropical storm... Bush could have NEVER done something like that!

Actually Bush may have been able to defeat Katrina, if only he had cared enough about the American people to get off his overstuffed ass, cancel his vacation and show some leadership...sadly, his vacation and a birthday party for Senator McCain mattered more to Bush than the dying in New Orleans.

It was truly heroic.

Nah; just competent leadership.

Yeah, it is certainly nice to see the State and local governments did their job, FEMA backed them up where necessary.... all of it added up to not needing our inept President to interfere. We dodged a big bullet there. Thankfully there were no levees breaking.

Well, except for him controlling the weathermen & all, like you implied.

The ODS on this board is pretty funny. I'm worried about you guys if he wins re-election...

I'm surprised they didn't find one and break it, Bush III has a solid record of doing whatever crappy thing Bush did even crappier and with more spending. Get a few more hurricanes and break a few levees and you might even be able to come up with a jobs plan... We'd need people to build a new levee...

Believe me, we felt the same for you when Bush did. Although I don't think even a billion dollar warchest is going to save this guy who just now suddenly realized that jobs should be a "focus"...

Of course, appointing competent people to staff FEMA is kind of important too, as opposed to appointing horse lawyers.

True. However, even Bush didn't make that mistake twice. Again, that's a low bar you give for Obama. All he has to do is perform better than Bush and you wet your pants with excitement...

I am extremely glad that we weren't hit by a hurricane, it would have sucked much worse than this.

The timeline is in post 202.....wtf should Bush have done...that should be an easy question for you pinheads...now is your chance to impress us...

Are you still repeating the lie that Irene didn't make landfall as a hurricane?

i find it funny that ODS is the new rage now. especially because it came from BDS (Bush derangement syndrome). I guess that's another policy that Obama continued.

Um, Damo? Irene was a hurricane...

Yeah - I know you Bushies had that kind of empathy.

And I love the exaggeration about jobs. You really can't talk about Obama without hyperbole...are you aware of that?

Well gee, they got those wacky TORNADOES up there in Colorado, don't they?

Maybe that's why you need shingles with such a high wind rating.

But I get it, you're just like Yurt. you make ridiculous claims and can't back them up, then when someone calls bullshit on your outlandish claims, you get your undies all twisted and pitch a hissy fit.

Good God man, when I first got here you could at least be counted on to be somewhat honest, now you're just another deranged Obama hater willing to spread the most outlandish lies to further your claims.

Sustained winds in excess of 73 mph every single day of the year....ROTFLMAO!!

So now Damo, one of this board's CREATORS is adopting the Yurt debating technique and is just going to ignore any facts that might prove inconvenient to his BS?

He claimed that in Eastern Colorado they experience SUSTAINED winds in excess of 73 mph ON A DAILY BASIS.

When asked for some EVIDENCE from the NWS, all he could come back with is some BS about his roof's rating with his insurance company.

Then, when pressed for facts to back up his ridiculous allegations, he whines about being "through" with this and then begins ignoring me. Talk about taking your ball and running home for a good cry!!
