Republicans don't have the balls!

Didn't read the article, did you?

You and many others won't be buying and selling with the federal government, though, will you?

I don't get food stamps, but you'll be glad to know those who do need them will continue to get them for a while.

When you're "sure" of something, that's a solid guarantee. :fuckthatshit:

you didn't qualify "buying and selling" as only with the federal government....

nice back peddle though

odd....I don't remember reports of a single business closing down the last time it happened....

Odd, I don't remember saying any business closed down the last time it happened.

Not even a mediocre deflection attempt, PiMP.

Your memory is, of course, infallible and omniscient.

Naturally, you didn't attempt to research the issue, did you?

Please link to the post that proves that I said any business closed as a result of the Gingrich/Clinton shutdowns, which happened November 14 through November 19, 1995 and from December 16, 1995 to January 6, 1996 .

Then, when you've concocted what you think is a snappy retort in lieu of the above, you'll read this report, won't you, dumbass?

I suppose I could take the charitable view and regard your inane attempt at a 'gotcha' as the innocent result of your inadequate reading skills.

Did you notice that the quotes were extracts from an article that was linked?

"If the government shuts down, no buying or selling will happen.

There will be companies...that will be so adversely affected by this shutdown that they will not be able to open again in the end."

http://money.cnn.com/2011/04/07/technology/government_contractors_shutdown/index.htm

Now, I await your usual responses.

Will you say I am posting obsessively and than ask (rhetorically) 'who cares'?, or will you post a bunch of weird shit claiming I'm soneone else?

Which?

The last time this happened we paid federal employees even though they didn't work, plus paid them overtime to get caught up.....I thought that was really stupid.....I hope we don't do that again......

Is it their fault? Should they be penalized for the stupidity of their elected representatives?

The ones who should not be paid are the legislators!

they shoved health care down your throat? how so? do you have to pay for it by force at this time? just how did "they" do it?

good lord...when pubs pass a bill you don't like....they are shoving it down your throat....when dems make a bill you like....its ok

what happens if someone doesn't purchase insurance rana?

you won't answer it, because to do so, would burst your bubble of a world.

Democrats won a popular election running largely on a platform and campaign that repeatedly, vocally included implementing a plan for universal healthcare. Winning an election on that and then following through on the promise is hardly ramming it down anyone's throat.

Elections have consequences....

Oh, no - I wouldn't say that. They definitely had consequences when the love of your life, George Bush, won in 2000 & dragged America into an unneccessary, counter-productive war for 7+ years.

That wasn't a good consequence, though. At least w/ this popular mandate, people get healthcare...

Yep, and you felt a sampling of those consequences in 2010, with more consequences to follow in 2012..... How you enjoying it, pinhead?

It's not so bad. The GOP is doing exactly what I predicted they'd do, but much more quickly - overplaying their hand, pissing off independents & setting themselves up for a pretty short run in the majority...

you're a broken record, doesn't matter the poster (on the right, because you never, ever, call out posters on the left)....you say the same talking points over and over.

yawn

Meh, doesn't look that way from the polls I am watching. Looks to me like Independents are breaking more toward the GOP every day, and away from the D's. Something like 48% of the country would rather see ANY Republican be the next president over Obama..... so, better get to work campaigning for your messiah, he's not doing to good at the moment.

I am Independent and although I am disappointed in Obama on some issues, I would rather stick with what I know than Michele Bachmann or any of the other potential candidates the GOP has offered up thus far.

Let's see those polls.

I saw this one:

"Nearly half of all Americans have an unfavorable view of the tea party movement, putting it in the same company as the Democratic and Republican parties, according to a new national poll.

This is the first time that a CNN poll has shown the tea party's unfavorable ratings as high as those of the two major parties," says CNN Polling Director Keating Holland."

Epic,

Check this article out!

http://www.mpnnow.com/life/x8168489...arty-has-most-support-from-white-Evangelicals, just an FYI

you start off bashing only the republicans for wanting to shut government down

I said that I think that there are plenty of Republicans that want to shut down the government and specifically named Mike Pence as an example. If you think that's bashing, that's your problem. I think it's reality and it's what the Tea Party people want them to do. I don't see how pursuing the policies that their base supports as bashing.

I also didn't say that all Republicans want to shut it down and explicitly stated that I doubt Boehner wants to shut it down, but that I don't think he can control his caucus and deliver the votes to get it done.

i come along and show you obama is willing to do so as well. you fight and fight and deflect and deflect as best you can, without simply saying....yeah yurt...that's true. so after about a half dozen posts....you finally acknowledge my point, you should have simply acknowledged it in the beginning.

Being willing to do something as a last resort and wanting something to happen as the preferred outcome are two separate things, you ignorant shit. Obama may be willing to shut it down, but I don't think he wants to shut it down. I think the same is true of Boehner, but I don't think it is necessarily true of the entire House Republican caucus. I think there is a good portion of the caucus that prefers shut down to any negotiated deal because that's what their base wants them to do.

what a waste of time trying to tear my point down, but at least you finally admit it, instead of deflecting. good job nigel. though you could have just saved yourself some time and just acknowledged this earlier instead of being an obamabot apologist.

FARGLE BARGLE!

No, you're a liberal sweetheart, you just tell people you are independent because you are ashamed of your nuts. No one expects you to do anything other than vote for Obama, he could be convicted of murdering Michelle, and you'd still vote for him. All of you lefties are absolute hypocrites, you'll sashay around here talking about how you don't like that Obama did this or that, and he's not what you bargained for, and how you 'strongly condemn' his actions in Libya and renewal of the Patriot Act, as well as other Bush policies.... and come November, you'll trot your happy liberal asses off to the polls to reelect him.
