Why is Ron DeSantis slipping in the polls?

Agreed.

Have you noticed how many fake doctors, lawyers and teachers are on JPP? It's one thing to claim something but when they clearly can't back it up with behavior, it reveals that something is wrong.

They are either lying or have suffered debilitating cognitive impairment....IMO, most are the latter case.

What's going on is claiming to a respected career in order to weaponize it and use it to bash others. It seems to be mostly RWers who do it, have you noticed? Damn, they're some pathetically insecure losers.

If RWers means Trumpers, I agree. Although, sad to say, a lot of RWers are Trumpers these days. On JPP, they're almost exclusively Trumpers but it's a skewed demographic. Most JPP RWers are over 60, bitter and angry. I doubt most of their claims of professional accomplishments.

Agreed that many of the claims seem to be to use it as a club. Like Sybil acting like a 6-year-old claiming the family dog broke a window, most of those claiming professional success can't seem to back up their claims with their online behavior.

Agreed. All these declarative conclusions by amateur internet posters are completely worthless in March of '23.

Kind of interesting isn’t it? Sure, polls show a snapshot in time but based on some of the reactions here you’d think this was the first Presidential primary they have been through.

My favorites are the WSE terrorist and Nazi supporters dancing around violence. I'm a big believer in both support for the rule of law and taking down such anti-American fuckwits in the most efficient manner possible.

Slip slidin' away Slip slidin' away You know the nearer your party's nomination The more you're slip slidin' away:laugh:

[FONT=&]At this stage in the 2024 GOP presidential primary cycle, the fact that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) hasn't officially declared his candidacy for his party's nomination feels more like an administrative afterthought than a sign of genuine electoral reluctance.

With his reputation bolstered by a rare good showing during an otherwise disappointing GOP midterm election, DeSantis has spent the early part of 2023 crisscrossing the country with conspicuous stops in presidential primary hubs like Iowa and New Hampshire, hawking his "make America Florida" memoir, and weighing in on matters ostensibly outside the scope of someone content to stay in state government for long.

[FONT=&]Despite his early reputation as a potential Trump-slayer — coupled with a number of encouraging, if largely premature, polls — the light from DeSantis' political star seems to be dimming.

A 'very bad week' for DeSantis supporters

[FONT=&]Data analytics firm Morning Consult an updated 2024 GOP primary tracking poll taken over the weekend of March 17-19 that showed DeSantis tied with his record low. Meanwhile, Trump surged to more than double the Florida governor's support.

[FONT=&]DeSantis' slippage comes amidst a particularly rocky stretch of headlines for the governor. He downgraded Ukraine's defense against an ongoing Russian invasion as not part of the "vital national interest" for the United States — a foray into international politics which earned him the surprisingly caustic ire of many of his fellow Republicans.

This foreign policy squabble was overtaken by rising questions over DeSantis' personal touch on the campaign trail, and his capacity for retail politics. That was followed by the most open warfare to date between DeSantis and Trump, whose allies blasted the governor as a "weasel" for raising Trump's alleged hush-money payments to adult film star Stormy Daniels in a backhanded attempt to denounce the possibility of criminal indictments.

"It's the trend that's important, and the trend is unequivocal: Every single one of these polls has shown Mr. DeSantis faring worse than before, and Mr. Trump faring better," The New York Times'Nate Cohn concluded, while cautioning against trusting a single poll for electoral forecasting.

Baby Trump offers nothing that isn't already offered. Hate Nazi Book Burners have less support than just hate Nazi's

He had been intentionally NOT campaigning against anyone but mainly Trump but for some reason decided to start doing it.

Bad idea IMO.

It was a very interesting strategy to chose and just maybe a brilliant one but going wobbly is never a good idea.

The other factor is that all this noise over Trump and indigments are just headwinds for him.

I think it's just a lot of chest beating. It's the most arrogant posters who are making conclusions and stating them as gawd-given fact who think any productive prediction about an election 20 months from now can be made today.

All reasons why I've never understood Ronnie worship. Also too lest we forget, he busted PATCO and encouraged the destruction of other unions as well. And there went the non-college-educated workers of the middle class.
If you study PATCO, they deserved what they got. It illustrated perfectly how unions festered into a beast that felt they were invincible. Reagan's union busting was necessary at that point in time. Especially the air traffic controllers.

The Feds. actually bargained in good faith for once. Reagan took over during a flat economy that went back to Nixon. His trickle down nosense showed temporary gains for some in the economy, but we all know that it's a flawed theory that never works. So everyone remembers a period of growth that ended up being a disaster when the bills came due.

There are drawbacks for sure, but at least it doesn't lock Independents out of the process.

That's my thought. I've never been a spoiler for either party, but I have participated in every primary election without being registered with a party. It saves me like 2,000 meaningless phone calls during the campaign.

DeathSantis rode trump's coattails during Covid and killed tens of thousands of Floridians. It made him popular, so he doubled/tripled down on mirroring trump's rhetoric and demeanor.

At some point he started to drink his own piss, and there seems to be no limit to his ridiculous authoritarianism.

The nation rejects his policies. trump has no policies to reject, so the nation just wants him gone.

DeSantis is somewhat unique. Does he wear a foil hat? Of course! But, I find it interesting that he is not a member of the Religious Right Abortion Ban Club, as so far, he has only limited abortions to having to be performed under 90 days of inception, and that is much better than in my state here in Texas, where our TRUMPTARDED governor is banning them completely.

But, he is a Homophobe big time. And his policies about Black History being taught in schools is racist as hell. And what an idiot, referring to the Ukraine Invasion as a Border Dispute- on national TV? How embarrassing is that for a man that had somewhat of a military background?

Ron DeSantis- Not quite ready for PRIME TIME!

No Sir. Sorry Republicans! But Trump or DeSantis, either one, can hold a candle to Joe Biden.

You better be looking for someone to nominate who can actually win!

I've never seen the Republicans offer up such weak choices before, that automatically guarantees the Democrats such an easy win!

He's being pressured to ram through a 6 week ban. We'll see how that plays out

Toxic TOP is an ostensible female, and is not nor ever was a teacher. She is also a racist. In fact, one of her besties here yesterday was calling Guno, who is a Jewish mixed-race person, a "mongrel" as she wished for his death to come soon, to Toxic's applause.

There is so much hatred coming from the alt right. It is sad to watch.

Thank you for the correction, Toxic Top is a she. I just assumed that someone who would make such vile threats against children would be a man, but I guess I was wrong.

Not unless you change my name.

No, I can edit down the quotes, like I did just there. It is common, and completely within the rules. I do not need to quote everything you have ever said to respond to you. But, if you feel I am in error, put a complaint in.

Seriously, I would never make death threats over something so stupid... Can you say the same?

...it doesn't help when they have mental issues since the chaos of reality confuses them.

The strongest correlation to trump voters is worsening health outcomes. These are people who have destroyed their health by abusing their bodies, and now want revenge on America. If you bring up facts or logic, it just angers them more. It is just sad to watch.

I read that guys who act like Ron DeStormTrooper are usually overcompensating for inner feelings of inadequacy and paranoia about their own homosexual feelings.

Down here in Florida, rumor has it that he "experimented" as a teenager and that there were drunken nights in college when he and his frat boy buddies could no longer control their urges and things would get "out of hand" (or rather "in hand") and ever since then, he's reportedly been having homo erotic dreams and fantasies which he cannot come to terms with and which cause him great distress.

The only way he can cope is to swagger around and strut like the big macho man he's always wished he was.

Probably doesn't help matters that he's such a short, chubby, sawed off little runt, either.

DeSantos' campaign is basically gay bashing, but he is also willing to attack immigrants or people who vaguely look either gay or like immigrants. What he has no interest in is economics, foreign policy, infrastructure, etc... The stuff of being President.
