I think
I spotted that TOP had mental health issues the first week I was on JPP. Like many Alt-Right racists on JPP, she's elderly, Euro-American, poorly educated and a demented....although like other members of her group, the Krazy Keyboard Klub (KKK), I suspect her mental issues are more than standard age-related ones.
In short, don't expect rational discussions with irrational people.

It must be hard to adjust to modern America, where Blacks can walk down the street, and gays can get married. Some of our older posters are unable to adjust.
Not unless you change my name

Is America suffering economically? Not much, but Florida is worse off than the rest of America. Florida used to be low income/low cost of living. It was a great place to go to when you were starting out, because it was cheap, and you were not worrying about making much money. Now it is low income/high cost, which is a real problem.
Beyond that, DeSantis is running for President (he has not announced, but he is doing everything else but announce). This is the time to say what he would do about inflation, and other national issues. Iowa does not care what he is doing about (or more likely failing to do about) hurricane preparedness.
Instead, he rants against homosexuals, teachers, and immigrants. He is proud he kidnapped legal immigrants (and one US citizen), and claims the US Army had to rescue them(didn't happen).
Reagan was an actor. He acted like a man of the people, but delivered on the boilerplate hard Right issues.
He removed Carter's solar panels in a message to Big Oil that there was a new sheriff in town. He ultimately harmed the economy with his tax cuts and free money for crooked developers. It took a few years for his damage to come to fruition, which unfortunately for Bush landed directly in his lap. Once the facade was gone, the savings and loan industry was destroyed
While that tends to be common among homophobes, and bigots in general, IMO, it's important to remember that, like Trump, DeSantis is a politician catering to the lowest common denominator of American culture. He's playing to the poorly educated, the losers on the American economic spectrum and the stupid (and/or mentally ill) who are easily manipulated with fearmongering.I read that guys who act like Ron DeStormTrooper are usually overcompensating for inner feelings of inadequacy and paranoia about their own homosexual feelings.
Down here in Florida, rumor has it that he "experimented" as a teenager and that there were drunken nights in college when he and his frat boy buddies could no longer control their urges and things would get "out of hand" (or rather "in hand") and ever since then, he's reportedly been having homo erotic dreams and fantasies which he cannot come to terms with and which cause him great distress.
The only way he can cope is to swagger around and strut like the big macho man he's always wished he was.
Probably doesn't help matters that he's such a short, chubby, sawed off little runt, either.
All reasons why I've never understood Ronnie worship. Also too lest we forget, he busted PATCO and encouraged the destruction of other unions as well. And there went the non-college-educated workers of the middle class.
is Florida suffering economically? I don't recall ever seeing him say that he hates gays or immigrants... I follow him and his wife on Facebook
...do you? You should... and then you'd know what's actually happening...
America would be lucky to have him as our president...

Don't send money to Florida then... I usually just send birthday money...because everyone I know is fine...
