Why is Ron DeSantis slipping in the polls?

It must be hard to adjust to modern America, where Blacks can walk down the street, and gays can get married. Some of our older posters are unable to adjust.

I read that guys who act like Ron DeStormTrooper are usually overcompensating for inner feelings of inadequacy and paranoia about their own homosexual feelings.
Down here in Florida, rumor has it that he "experimented" as a teenager and that there were drunken nights in college when he and his frat boy buddies could no longer control their urges and things would get "out of hand" (or rather "in hand") and ever since then, he's reportedly been having homo erotic dreams and fantasies which he cannot come to terms with and which cause him great distress.
The only way he can cope is to swagger around and strut like the big macho man he's always wished he was.
Probably doesn't help matters that he's such a short, chubby, sawed off little runt, either.
All reasons why I've never understood Ronnie worship. Also too lest we forget, he busted PATCO and encouraged the destruction of other unions as well. And there went the non-college-educated workers of the middle class.
While that tends to be common among homophobes, and bigots in general, IMO, it's important to remember that, like Trump, DeSantis is a politician catering to the lowest common denominator of American culture. He's playing to the poorly educated, the losers on the American economic spectrum and the stupid (and/or mentally ill) who are easily manipulated with fearmongering.
Therefore, it's possible he may not have self-esteem issues himself but is simply using fearmongering and bigotry as a tool for personal political gain.
PATCO was a mistake. So was AIDS. Nevertheless, Reagan was a good "Wartime" President at a time when the Free World needed him most. While I liked Carter, he was the wrong man for the wrong time.
Notice that even Bill Clinton had some good points mixed in with the bad.
Racists and homophobes like Toxic TOP adore DeSantis for these things. His super power seems to be finding social/cultural non-issues and turning them into ground beef for his base. Whether it's "Don't Say Gay," removing books from classrooms unless approved by a government-trained "media specialist," sending minions to Texas to round up legal asylum-seekers and flying them at taxpayer expense to a third state, his war on woke, his squabbles with Mickey Mouse, and his infamous voter fraud squad that rounded up a handful of ex-con voters who were later exonerated by the courts -- you can count on Ron to appeal to the basest of the base. He's a politician for the simple-minded haters, not for the rest of us.
