You are a rabbit sitting at a table with two other rabbits and a wolf. The Wolf declares "might makes right" and, therefore, he'll make all the dinner decisions from that time forward. What do you do?*

Winston Churchill once famously said that democracy was ‘the worst form of government.’ He made a rather good point for, in so many ways, it is a flawed and unsatisfactory system. Churchill, of course, knew a lot about the subject; twice Prime Minister of Great Britain, prolific author of political histories and the architect of our struggle to defend and preserve democracy in the face of its two greatest threats last century - fascist aggression and communist expansion. We should listen to his sage words.
Shoot the wolf in the head.

You get fucked either way. That's why neither authoritarian or direct democratic rule works.

The ten largest states have over 178 million people, more than a majority.

Ergo, a popular vote would allow ten states to dominate the other forty. Tyranny of the majority.

Think this through: California as the most people but not more people than Texas & Florida.

Besides, do you really think the 3/4s of the US states would ratify an amendment to eliminate the EC?

Putin never explained the constitution to you huh dick swaddle

Putin is a fascist piece of shit who should have been assassinated years ago, you shit-brained cocktard.

SCOTUS does not make law. People learn that in grade school. Their decision are not 'settled law', you cum-hungry whore.

Nothing. We used to have a Republic. Why would anyone want it to be turned into a direct democracy with mob rule other than as a prelude to dictatorship?

Do we have mob rule in the states? They go by votes. A republic was designed to make it so the "right" people could vote. In PolySci they said it was also because transportation was a big deal in the early days. It took days to go from town to town, so they gave the votes counts to people who would travel to the capitol with them.

Why? Why should we want just 6 or 7 states, and the handful of large urban areas within them to dominate national elections?
Probably for the same reason that states who have 5 times the population of states with more cows than humans, get the same two votes in the Senate.

You are advocating for rule by minority, which is no better than rule by majority. Maybe worse

Disagreed on "used to have" but I'm curious: What do you believe happened to it? What is your solution? Lemme guess: violent overthrow of the US government to Make America Great Again? LOL

Populism is a direct democracy which, under Pedo Don, would have been a prelude to dictatorship. What kind of fucking moron would want that?

Because the President is President of all Americans. Not just the states.
The argument is that the Midwest will not be represented at all.

As it is now, only 3 or 4 states decide elections. Politicians chase electoral votes, instead of attracting the votes of the people

The idea of people living their entire lives out where they were born is over. State boundaries are meaningless.

we have small states and very large states. Our forefathers realize in prefer for small states to have a say and electoral system would work better. And I will remind you that the Senators that you mention are elected by a disproportionate system meaning one man’s vote in one staedoesnot carry the same weight in every other state,
What do you mean?
