So if Florida is the “State of Freedom,” as DeSantis propagandizes,

Move to Cali if you don't feel free because you might miss "marajuana" or abortion...or you disagree with what instruction...not discussion....is allowed in schools....In fact, why are you still in Florida? Lots of real estate available in Cali....

I’m here for other reasons, but California is much more free than Florida.

Insurance companies pay out more than Calif.?

See above, I listed several of the freedoms California has that we don’t
and I asked you what freedoms you are missing.... What does Florida not have that California does...⁹. that would not allow someone to live comfortably?

It's also got healthier citizens, beautiful diversity of land and people, higher taxes that provide more and better services, and less government interference in the people's personal lives.

It's interesting that Gavin Newsom calls California the Freedom State. Do Republicans and Democrats have different definitions of freedom and therefore its consistent for him to call California that while supporting big government?

BINGO!! I believe this to be 100% true. 100%.

Recreational Marijuana is legal in California.
Recreational Marijuana is illegal in Florida.
Abortion is openly accessible in California.
Abortion is strictly regulated in Florida.

Just two examples off the top of my head.

I can buy a firearm with minimal regulation in Florida.
I have to jump through governmental hoops to buy one on California … and it might not be the type of firearm I want.

I can make improvements/changes to my property or house in Florida with minimal or limited government regulation.
I have to navigate a governmental gauntlet to do the same in California.

Just a couple of examples from the other side of the fence … off of the top of my head

You see, here is where you are ignorant as to what freedom is... Why you believe "allows someone to live comfortably" is not a valid limit to freedom. What is comfortable to you is different than what is comfortable to another.

Not to mention that some do not want to "live comfortably"

Freedom, is about not deciding for others how they should live their lives.

It’s amazing to me how Trumppers scream FREEDOM, while supporting the criminalization of Marajuana and reproductive choices. They scream freedom, while their heroes punish private companies for expressing political opinions, they scream freedom while dictating what topics are allowed to be discussed in schools. They like freedom for their choices but not for others who make different choices. Freedom to fit the narrow path they believe is appropriate.

I believe you could apply the bolded equally to both sides…but that’s just me.

Interesting, because any place that has an HOA, Florida, California, Texas, etc. in order to do work on your property, you must have permission from your HOA.

Different types of freedom, but yes both places limit freedom in different ways. There is always a limit to freedom, but Florida is not "the free State", and California is not unfree. DeSantis is playing culture wars when he tries to present it like that.

Except I believe you would limit the availability of “certain” choices. If not you personally, some politicians you might support.

I have never said we have a right to full freedom. I believe you would limit the availability of "certain" choices also. You are not an anarchist are you?
