So if Florida is the “State of Freedom,” as DeSantis propagandizes,

I don't see any "shutdowns"...."Can you believe the clip cut him off midsentence?
What are "civilian rescue operations"? The sun was shining. Am I the only one who see this?"
There are normal pauses when any politician is on the scene of a disaster...or flies into town for a "photo op"... but you all know that...

Do you believe he is causing the sunshine?

I have never said we have a right to full freedom. I believe you would limit the availability of "certain" choices also. You are not an anarchist are you?

That’s my point…though admittedly I didn’t not state it clearly. There are “certain” things you are more inclined to restrict and I am more inclined to lessen restrictions on … and vice versa. It’s the ongoing battle between the two sides of the political aisle.

Different types of freedom, but yes both places limit freedom in different ways. There is always a limit to freedom, but Florida is not "the free State", and California is not unfree. DeSantis is playing culture wars when he tries to present it like that.

Once again, I believe he is presenting his side’s view of what is free and un-free.

It's interesting that Gavin Newsom calls California the Freedom State. Do Republicans and Democrats have different definitions of freedom and therefore its consistent for him to call California that while supporting big government?

Big government?

What an idiot phrase

Define it

You can’t huh

We vote not battle

You just keep refusing to honor what most Americans vote for

People forget that freedom means that we have to coexist with other people who have a different view than us.

Exactly

The right REFUSES to honor elections

They just lie and say they got cheated

That is tearing democracy to shreds

They are destroying what the founders built

If you are a good person, you put your campaigning on the back burner and do your job. That’s what will win you votes, not photo ops.

But that is only for nations that accept the results of elections

Republicans don’t want the freedom that democracy brings

Because In clean elections they don’t win much

100% agree, and when people like DeSantis cast it as freedom versus non-freedom it's a divisive lie.

Same goes for when he called Hurricane Sandy aid... "Socialism".

I can buy a firearm with minimal regulation in Florida.
I have to jump through governmental hoops to buy one on California … and it might not be the type of firearm I want.

I can make improvements/changes to my property or house in Florida with minimal or limited government regulation.
I have to navigate a governmental gauntlet to do the same in California.

Just a couple of examples from the other side of the fence … off of the top of my head

I've lived in the Bay Area for so long that I always appreciate hearing the perspectives of the more recent arrivals (good and bad). People are often shocked when it comes to real estate and all that is involved if you try and fix/update or god forbid add on to your home. (And this isn't HOA stuff, we're talking City/State laws.) It's a long, expensive and brutal process and for those who come from places where's it not like that it's an eye opener.

Once again, I believe he is presenting his side’s view of what is free and un-free.

I disagree, its him saying only his type of freedom is actually freedom. Nazi's felt the same way.

I agree gun control is not freedom, but we all must accept some limits on freedom to live in society.
I also agree limits on abortion are not freedom, but many would argue its a good limit... but don't go around calling it freedom.

Same here in Florida.

Same here in Florida.

I've only spent a little time looking at investments in Florida so I'm not well versed on the state. But I'm willing to bet a fair sum of money that your process is still nothing like California and you don't have a CEQA law equivalent that allows really any group to stop anything you do.

For someone not from California you wouldn't understand what happens here so you don't really have a frame of reference.
