Why Russia is having a difficult time in Ukraine, aka Where's the air force?

Great one!

In answer to the OP

I think the generals in Russia didnt want to do this campaign

I think Putin is in BIG trouble

We need to keep saying how insane Putin is

He’s lost his mind

The Russian people need to keep protesting

The generals can take him out

If they know the people will cheer his removal

The generals can do a coup

This campaign is an utter mess

The Russians have no desire to fight this war

Soon in Ukraine will be a mud puddle

No tanks or trucks can leave the roads

On lots of roads they won’t be able to even pass each other

It’s not going to better for Russia

The world now hates them

With Putin gone all the mess just ends for the people of Russia

Vastly outmatched by Russia's military, in terms of raw numbers and firepower, Ukraine's own air force is still flying and its air defenses are still deemed to be viable - a fact that is baffling military experts.

After the opening salvos of the war on Feb. 24, analysts expected the Russian military to try to immediately destroy Ukraine's air force and air defenses.

That would have been "the logical and widely anticipated next step, as seen in almost every military conflict since 1938," wrote the RUSI think-tank in London, in an article called "The Mysterious Case of the Missing Russian Air Force."

Moscow should insist on a mutual non-aggression pact from NATO and its several members in return for a cease fire?

One year of Joe and Putin loses his mind completely

Soon the Russian people heave the mad man Putin

GO JOE!

Various reports on Twitter is that they have been active, but they are small and resources limited, but hopefully improving.

the story about the FSB tipping of the Ukrainians that a column of Kadyrovite tanks was heading their way to assassinate Zalensky....is true, 56 tanks destroyed and it sure looks like air strikes and not ground forces did the damage

planes are expensive, vlad wants to harvest them.

but he really did need to have special forces take out air defense command first ands no idea why that didnt happen.

You sound disappointed.

Is that because you support Putin like the traitors at the America First Klan meeting this past weekend:

So do you agree with your Nazi pals that Putin is great?

Nato is targeting Russian planes for Ukraine, let's not forget that. But yes, the "experts" cant even yet figure out what Xi and Putin are doing.

The worst fucking take imaginable...but we still haven't gotten Flash's take yet, which I'm sure is worse.

China has nothing to do with this invasion...in fact, they're staying out of it because they want to do the same thing to Taiwan that your guy Putin is doing to Ukraine.

Why don't you send BLM?

Luckovich is one of the worst political cartoonists there is. I'm not particularly singling out the tripe above, but rather pointing out his cartoons tend to be mean, unfunny, irrelevant, and / or uninspired, all the things that make for a good political cartoon (eg., fun, funny, relevant and inspired).

Totally agree, devoid of subtlety and wit.

Russian troops are marching through Ukrain defenses and are taking cities and towns. The end is clear. Putin will take what he wants. Then he has to hold it.

no one ever doubted Putin would overwhelm Ukrainian defenses, a given

your last point is the only one that really matters, there is absolutely positively no way he can hold the country without taking far more casualties than Russia saw in Afghanistan

they have already lost more troops than the US did in Iraq, after YEARS of occupation....and how many did we lose in the initial take down of Saddam, a dozen?

Moscow should insist on a mutual non-aggression pact from NATO and its several members in return for a cease fire?

Putin refused to discuss the idea in the past, esp. after his attacks on Belarus, Georgia and Chechnya. I doubt he'd accept now since he's the fucking aggressor here.

Putin, who is probably insane, are like Liberal gun banners and the West are gun owners minding their own business. Putin, paranoid at what the West might do, attacks first just like Liberals attack lawful gun owners as being guilty until proven innocent.
