The biggest problem with 'paying for truth' is...well, it should be kind of obvious lol.

'Here, I'll give you money if you give me some dirt on Trump'. No dirt on Trump, no money for Steele. Not to mention Steele was in contact with *Russians* as a source for his dirt.

You have to be a sleep walking partisan hack to not see the problem with that.

FBI offers to pay, then uses it as (one of) a basis for an Intelligence Investigation of the Trump campaign.

It's OP RESEARCH for Buddha's sake. Clappers statement are unreliable being as he is a lying snake in the grass
but even he says parts are not reliable ( what does that say about the rest of it/)

Then the Podesta and Clinton clan of course are in this..if it's dirty pool you can bet they are involved

The Dossier laid around for months but no news organization would touch it because it was unverified and salacious. The everyday term for that is 'bullshit' lol. But everything changed once it became apparent Trump actually had a chance to become president.

That's when the NBC affiliate Buzz Feed released the Dossier.

Then once the bullshit laden Dossier was out, then it became fair game for the 'more reputable' outlets to talk about it since it was already released by Buzz Feed.

But it would be hard to make this whole Russian collusion business up. It's a Fact that Trump's enemies COLLUDED WITH RUSSIANS via a British ex-intelligence agent. It's not a rumor or a suspicion like it is with Trump or his campaign. It is a bare bones fact.

And the fact money was changing hands only gives more reason to be highly suspicious of it. Any honest person who advocates an investigation into Russian collusion in the last election and beyond should be jumping and screaming for one on the McCain/Comey/Fusion GPS/FBI/Dossier nexus.

I absolutely guarantee a SP wouldn't have to settle for an indictment on a peripheral character.

They didn’t pay for opposition research. What their OFFER was, was to pay Steele for his continued investigation into Russian activities. Why? Because he had been found to be a credible resource in the past.

you seem to be the one "flailing away", or your side of the argument I should say.
Trump collusion with the Russians is a nothing burger, and you know it.
Why you continue to try and make a case is really not that surprising being your 4th grade level of understanding on politics.

I will say what IS baffling though is why the media continues to hope upon hope that somehow the rabbit hiding in the hat will raise it's head.
Surely they know that with all of their leaking sources, and contacts, and given the machine in place trying to pin something on Trump and still with not one shred of evidence to support that, so they must know it's a great big nothing burger by now.

Which leads me to my conclusion that it is not about collusion, it's become diversion.
