Honoré: Trump doesn't care about people of color

The Navy can get anywhere in the world. To fight. They are not equipped to land millions of tons of emergency supplies, unless....there are places to land. Those ships come in after a port has been secured or cleared.
The supplies are there on the dock, they need man power and equipment
Honore said he had ship and he was on land!
This was a horrible response to this Sailor, there is just no denying Trump was flat footed on this, was too involved with the NFL and didnt respond until there was criticism directed at him.

Sad times when folks don't know that Presidents delegate authority and jobs to people either elected, hired or chosen to handle multiple responsibilities and tasks for various national events. Even ordinary citizens engage in national efforts helping each other. Libs are honed in on the NFL. Guess we need to attach the NFL to every conversation now if we want to get their attention.

The supplies did not start landing ( and by barge, not ship yet) until one port out of 8 on P.R. was clear enough to bring in barges. This was the case within days after the hurricane struck. People worked very hard to open this one port. Manpower is definitely needed to get those supplies throughout the island. The roads are still not cleared. See how this all adds up? One thing affects another? I know you do.

No, that's commercial craft, he said Navy could get in anywhere and I know that as well.

Covefe. If the U.S. Military were to try and bring in MSC ships today in some deepwater ports, they could not get into port. MSC ships ( Military Sealift Command) are basically the supply ships of the military. There is (though maybe by tonight) no deep water ports available to them to offload. That is why barges have been used. They do not draw much for water loaded at all compared to a ship. They also carry much less cargo. The enormity of the Aid needed here is beyond what the barges can bring in. And while they are bringing it in, they are not moving it out. The infrastructure of the island is still bad.

When I said (and meant) the U.S. Navy can get anywhere, they can. For fighting. For humanitarian reasons they are equipped to help, though not at this scale. That all takes time.

its been nine days, they knew it was going to be devastating 12 days ago, it's all just excuses. They can land men on the beaches in war, they can land them on the beaches for humanitarian aid.

I hate to have to repeat myself, but for you I absolutely will. Obviously by his name he is ex military. And I am sure he served honorably. That being said, it does not stop the loud mouth whiny fuck from actually helping instead of finding fault with everything else others are doing. So, my message to him, you and anyone else is put the fuck up or shut the fuck up. Really simple.

The problem with you guys is that he's a veteran and a liberal. Nobody gives a crap what other vets say if they're conservatives. I don't see any of you calling out those people as loudmouthed, whiny fucks. The double standard is alive and well here.

1 week since storm's passing.

There were ships and salvage vessels like Sailor's on that were waiting offshore for the storm to pass. In the meantime, P.R. residents needed to use that time to acquire their basic stash of supplies able to hold them for at least a couple weeks.

Covefe, there are over 3 million people on P.R., their infrastructure is gone, they have limited airfields (now), and limited ports (getting better everyday). They not only need food, water, medical supplies, they need power, fuel etc.
That is an enormous amount of supplies. Millions upon millions of tons of cargo. Vessels of war, including landing craft and helicopters, do not have that kind of capacity. To bring that kind of aid requires ships. Big cargo ships.
Let me give you a quick example. A 20 foot shipping container loaded weighs about 21 tons. A 40' container loaded weighs about 27 tons. The biggest helicopter the military has can lift 14.5 tons give or take. An LCAC landing craft can carry between
50 and 70 short tons. Those are set up for wheeled cargo, not containers. Ships carry hundreds of thousands of tons of cargo.

Be back in a while.

I have nothing but respect for veterans. You can leave that out of this. I have zero respect for any asshole that whines about something politically when they are doing nothing to help the situation. You are the one that decided to "shut me up" by showing me he is veteran. I say to you on that, go fuck yourself. Like I said, put up or shut up. Being a veteran has nothing, zero, zip to do with this.

It could have started sooner, Sailor, former Gen. Honore, a man who was in charge of Katrina said so, I'm sorry, I trust his authority more than yours in this matter, so we will have to agree to disagree.
